Whether you stop by the branch or try to call, you will receive poor customer service. When visiting the branch, the lines are always ridiculously long and the bank seems completely mismanaged. When calling, they rarely answer their phones during business hours, and when they do, it takes 1-2 minutes worth of ringing before they answer. When i called today to see if a wire hit my account, i was told by a lady named caridad that they are too busy with customers in the branch to be looking up wires for people!
When i told her that i would be filing a complaint with corporate, she said 'go ahead' and when i asked her name, she hung up on me. I had to call back to find out her name from another employee. I have an appointment with the manager of the new pnc bank in aventura to open 2 business accounts tomorrow, as i will be leaving bbt for good because of this experience! If you are looking to bank somewhere, do not do it here, unless you want your business to be taken for granted and treated poorly!!
The counter at the teller windows is much higher than at other banks (about shoulder height), so that when you transact business it is in open view of other customers. Normally your body would serve to block the view of persons behind you in line - but this arrangement allows others to see as the teller counts out your currency and hands it to you. Not the safest situation.
Routinely takes over two weeks for bill pay to arrive. No help after calling numerous times to resolve problem. "oh well" attitude. Most large banks are also able to send money electronically without huge fees but not BB&T.
