My mortgage was bought by BB and T. Worse thing that could have happened to me. Received letters stating they had tried to reach me by phone which i know is not true, I called to ask and was told " these are just computer generated letters" You dont send computer generated letters to someone who is trying to get a modification on a mortgage that is at 7%!!! BB and T took the government bail out money but they are very slow to look at mods and the refinance dept was just as, if not more, incompetant. I would NEVER do business with this bank in any capacity!!! Going to try to find a way to complain to FHA. Was on hold for customer service for 15 mins. finally gave up. If you are trying for a refinance or a modification try another company!!! You will get farther.
I had F&M bank and BBT and F&M merged with BBT. It was good when the bank was small. I was in Virginia and now I moved to Maryland. I was closing my saving account and the bank manager told me to keep some amount instead of closing and there will be no fee if I had a combined total of $3,000. I took her word and kept it. I used to receive monthly statements and also alerts for any fees. I stopped receiving it for the past 3 years. Yesterday I decided to check my online activity of by savings account and I lost more than $100 of "inactive" fee. Even the manage do not understand. But she refused to refund the fee saying the laws in VA is different from the Laws in MD. My account was dormant. All other banks send me notices of inactive account ans warn me about the fees. After 2 hours of explanation and talking, I closed all my accounts with BBT
I visited a BB@T bank in Palm Coast FL yesterday. The Citibank that I used in TX was being bought out by BB&T. I had some questions about my bills and other issues. There were three tellers and one lady sitting in a private room. No customers were in the bank. They asked me to wait a few minutes. Five minutes later, I still have not been helped. I asked if I should make an appointment. I explained my problem to a teller. She took my name and phone number and was told someone would get back to me, since my information was probably not posted yet. (She had not checked to verify) I have over $50,000 in the bank and have no checks or debit card to obtain any money. This is a very poor introduction to this bank. No one has called me yet. I sure miss the friendly service from my TX bank
