You people are ridiculous. You claim that they steal your money and screw you but if you followed the rules in the disclosures you received, your accounts would be just fine. And no they don't mess around with the system so you get overdraft fees... The system doesn't allow them to do that. That is all on you. And for those of you complaining about the fees and the recession, thats the frieken point!
We're in a recession so the fees are necessary for businesses to stay open! And no matter what bank you go to these days there are going to be fees. Plus, there are plenty of ways to avoid the fees, if you can't follow them then that's your own damn fault. You people are idiots.... No one is out to get you and your money, you just don't know how to follow the rules and procedures of the bank.
So you're the ignorant ones. Not the bank. I've worked for the company and i know that customers that get angry about fees and such are the ones that are the most ignorant and don't know jack about banking.
I wish I had read reviews before I joined this bank. I have consistently had problems with this bank from the very first deposit. When I opened my account, I deposited two checks on the day I opened, in person. A week letter I received a letter in the mail stating that they have no record of one of the checks in their bank deposits so they recouped the money from the account. Even after the check writer provided documentation that the check had been cashed, they refused to rectify it on my account. They charge an exorbitant amount of fees, writing their policies and procedures to post debits before credits at midnight so that even though your account history shows an available balance of X amount of dollars, when the charges post they are able to charge overdraft fees.
Even after I had closed my account and requested the remaining small balance refunded to me, an autodraft charge hit my account and they reopened the account, rejected the charge and then charged me a 38.00 NSF fee to boot. For which I am now in collections for. Even after contacting the BBB they refuse to correct their fraudulent account practices. This is a truly disgusting bank. I recommend to all, Stay Away!
I have worked with many banks in my 35 years in business and have never had a bank experience as bad as with BBVA Compass. I cannot get the tech department to give me access to my accounts online except for a checking account that has been closed out. Loans and credit cards seem to be impossible to track online. Stay away from BBVA Compass Bank!
