First off, i was with chase before i had decided to test out capitalone. A family member recommended capitalone to me since he had no issues with them. I made the mistake of applying for an account online. When i completed the online application, i received my confirmation e-mail letting me know they would decide in 3-5 business days. I never received a call, e-mail, or mail letter three weeks after. So, i decide to just go to the branch and figure out what's going on. Apparently, there was an account set up under my name before but was never used, so a "review" was required to verify my identity and make sure nobody had fraudulently opened the account. The bank employee even said that i should have never opened the account online as the online customer service really sucks. Anyway, the review process took another 3 business days before i was told that everything checked out okay (i knew it would) and that my account was ready. Took about two weeks to receive my debit card and checks, which both came separate. This is where the drama began, mainly dealing with online customer service once again. The alerts on my account began not working, so i sent an e-mail to customer service. They escalated it to the web team, whom never replied. It took me four phone calls (one i was hung up on immediately after they asked how they could help) and a branch visit just to hear "it'll be fixed soon. " soon is not defined as two months, capitalone. I eventually just gave up and settled for the 15+ e-mails i receive every time my statement is out or duplicate e-mails for any other alert. Besides all the drama, capitalone is a subpar bank. Fees are ok, their points program seems very cheap, atms are not conveniently located, their mobile app needs updating, but their bank employees are the best. I would not recommend capitalone, especially for those who want a lot to offer from online and mobile services. Ugh, i am going back to chase.
During the short sale process, the Capital One ask me several documents. I have submitted all documents right a way. But each time after I submitted documents they never give satisfactory answer why still they are not approving my short sale! They just silent. I was keep calling them, but I did not get any right answer, why they are not approving ! It was very frustrating and painful to work with the Capital one. Who did not approve my short sale! I loose my house. Never take mortgage or line of credit from this bank. You will not get any help.

If I call them they said whatever they talked with me previously they are not true. I told them the name and number that I spoke with the person, but they did not give me a right answer. It was very frustrating and painful to work with the Capital one. Who did not approve my short sale! I loose my house. Never take mortgage or line of credit from this bank. You will not get any help.
I dont really write reviews but after my last experience I just had to. I have been a capital one customer for about 6 months now. I have had to deal with their customer service only twice during this time. The first time was due to being unable to log on to my online account. I called and the rep was actually very nice, polite, and helpful. He had me up and running in 5 minutes or so. Due to this first pleasant experience I will give them 2 stars. But just recently I received a letter in the mail stating that there may be some fraudulent activity on my credit card. So of course I give them a call. After being transferred about 3 times and waiting on hold for 20 minutes I eventually found myself speaking with one of the most RUDE customer service reps I have ever dealt with. His mic made him very difficult to hear, almost as if he was calling from a cell phone. Did I mention he blamed me for the poor reception even though I was calling from a home phone. He would eventually be so rude during the account verification process that I had to ask him "ARE YOU SERIOUS". As I said before, I did receive a very polite and helpful rep the first time I dealt with their customer service. So it may just be who you talk to. But I will say that if I am deal with another rep with this sort of attitude, I will be taking my business somewhere else.
