Chase allowed 5 different checks of almost $2000.00 to be deposited or cashed against my account without proper verification. All they did was verify that this person had my driver's license and a credit cards-- which were invalid. So, all you do is have your wallet robbed with those two items and crooks can cash stolen checks against your account. Chase does not have a password protection for live transactions, they do not have technology to scan checks to see if they are good and have funds and they do not verify your signature. This happened in 5 different branches in the boonies in FL. If this was TD bank, they would have been caught. If this was bank of america or BBT then they would've run away with the money as well. Security is a big thing nowadays and should way heavily on your choice of banks. It's going to get worse. The police do not really care for those cases. If you lose your wallet and you have Chase, BBT or Bank of America, do your yourself a favor and change to different bank--a new account is not going to help you. Also, customer service at Chase is the worst by phone. I made the bank representative at the bank call himself and he had to hang up as he himself was not able to get help. Hope it helps someone.
On Black Friday I lost my pocketbook. I lost my drivers license and my bank card and all my credit cards. I do have my temporary drivers license, with no picture on it. I went to the branch to get a bank card, since the one that was mailed to my address, is still not there, my husband was with me too. The person who was working with me said she would ask me some questions. I told her that I use this bank card as cash/ it is impossible for me to remember every single transaction I made in last one week or so, any way I do appreciate that it is probably customer safety. In that case it would be probably better if she would just say "no" , "we can't give you a card, you have to wait for your mail", rather than asking the the same question again and again and making me feel like a stupid person.
My Credit/Debit card expired in May/13. Since then I've not been able to get a new one (renewed), despite a bunch of e-mails trying to do so.
