Never use Citizen's Bank! I just had to call them for the THIRD time since opening my account to dispute service charges that were charged to my account IN ERROR! Each of these times I had to spend a few hours debating the charges on the phone in order to rectify the situation. Not only was I on the phone forever, but they hung up on me TWICE in the minute it took me to get my account number! Horrible service! Furthermore, when I called this last time, I again spent two hours on the phone after which they told me that yes it was their error (which I knew already) but that they couldn't fix it on the phone and that I need to actually go into the bank and dispute the charges again! I work 40+ hours a week so this is extremely inconvenient! I am closing my account. This is ridiculous... Please save yourself my horrible experience and go with another bank!
I am so tired of getting hit with the Citizens OD fees. Now that they have changed their posting order it is even worse. My entire family has Citizens account and we make many internal account transfers. If I make an online transfer it is done immediately and the funds have to be available but the next day I receive an OD fee that in turns causes other transaction to be short. I am frustrated and about fed up. Its like they hold transactions in limbo and put them through at the most inopportune time. Once you get caught up in the fees there is no way to fix it and you just keep falling deeper into the hole. The customer services reps or their managers basically say that is the way it is don't overdraft your account. We have OD protection that we can sell you. I am just fed up and I need help because when my direct deposit goes in I am just starting the cycle all over again!
I can not seem to dig myself out of this cycle with Citizens. My whole family has accounts with Citizens and I am so tired of their posting charges as they see fit. If I make an account transfer from one account to another the funds have to be available, right, and it is immediate. So that transaction cleared. But the next day I have an 35$ charge for insufficient funds. I am so tired of paying the overdraft fees and the customer service reps and their managers cant explain how they clear either. They offer overdraft protection. People make mistakes and once you are hit with the OD fees it is sometimes impossible to regroup. I need help. They are relentless with fees. I am completely frustrated.
