Citizens Bank charges $7.00 to cash a check drawn on their bank,if you don't have an account. You may call it "good citizenship"....I call it "Fleecing"
I have been banking with citizens bank for 9 years. I have banked with different branches including super market branch. I could not find a branch with good customer service. First I thought may be just a single branch. Then I tried other local branches. All are the same story. They didn't care reason for my visits, they didn't care to help with my wire transfers. I use the bank for business and personal. I tried many times to get a line of credit for business. Not a chance without a valid reason. Then I started banking with Wells Fargo for business. They are great. Good bank manager and customer service. Helped me to get 50k business line of credit in 6 months. I started cutting down business with citizens bank. I opened a personal account with wells fargo too.
So citizens, if you don't treat your customers like customers, we will find better banks where customers are appreciated.
I've been a customer ever since Citizens Bank came to NH, at least 15 years. This is in response to the letter I received stating that I must now maintain a $200 balance every day in order to avoid a $4.99/month "maintenance fee" on my savings account. Previously I was able to avoid fees by participating in an automatic savings plan. That option is gone. I wasn't happy when overdraft protection started costing me $30/year, but a potential $60/yr just to keep a savings account? No thanks.The credit union down the street will be happy to have my business. I already have a savings account there, so I'll just move my checking there too.
