The amount of time it takes them to process simple loan payments is ridiculous; it sometimes takes 2-3 WEEKS from the date I mail my payment to the time it is processed and then - uh oh - now I have a late payment fee.
The first couple of times this happened I thought it could be a US mail problem, but this happens every month! I mailed January's payment on December 27th and it has still not been processed and they claim they haven't received it yet!
(I don't have this problem with any other creditor, by the way.)
Customer service recommends that I do direct deposit, but why would I let a bank that can't even process a simple payment on time put their hands into my pocket?
RUN, don't walk away from this bank unless you want to constantly be worried that they "haven't received your payment".
I am currently a 5/3 account holder. My complaint about Fifth Third Bank is to detailed to post but I will say this. When I read how many customer complaints they own and the One Star (out of five star) rating they have, I can understand why.
As long as no problem exists with your account you will not have a problem 5/3. Just have a problem with your account and you will find out poor the 5/3 really is.
Bank at 5/3 at your own risk. You've been warned.
5th 3rds brokerage guy in Holland MI [Redacted] buffaloed me into an annuity that he said made 10% non compounding yearly.With some research I found out that was more like 3% after fees. They call me in for a sit down with one of their weary demoralized human whipping posts for the purpose of scrambling my accounts to no real benefit to me every 3 years or so.
