Closing my account this week. Between service fees and overdrafts for, as someone mentioned already in these reviews, TINY overdraws that could have been fixed by taking money out of my savings account, and rude staff, I've had enough. The staff are generally- and I've been to MANY branches- rude and hurried. They want to get you out of there as soon as they can. It's like a universal characteristic, with a couple exceptions. Today I called a branch to make sure they were open til 1pm. They were. I got there at 12:50pm and they had already closed. Open an account somewhere else.
Don't even think of opening an account with M&T Bank. The customer service is horrible. In my opinion, this is the worst bank I have ever had to deal with. They freeze your account, close your account, charges annoyingly high fees and they don't even bother to inform you. This is my personal experience, learn from it and stay wise, rather than going through what I have gone through.
They're so bad i cant't even waste another minute telling you about it after i spend so much time calling branches and the 800 #. Bottom line is they suck! Also i put one start because the website made me. In my opinion they deserve no stars. Two thumbs down!
