Just to cash a check, i have to waste 35 min. plus frustrations as a bonus. First I went to drive through, then they want me to come to lobby with more ID. And after all they want me to open an a/c or pay 10-15 dollars for only a 300 dollar check??
I am glad I am not their customer and I do not wish to be their customer. I wish good luck for who ever is their customers with their so called policy, they will close their door in no time.
They should leave from my town.
While not an everyday transaction, trying to buy Euros for a vacation is a bit of a problem. First, it always seems to be difficult for a teller to even find in their "system" where foreign exchange is. This takes a bit of time while they ask around among themselves how to do it.
Today when I asked what the exchange rate was I was quoted 1 Euro = 1.017 dollars. I asked if they were sure and even pointed out that Chase Bank across the street gave me a rate of 1 Euro = 1.1573 dollars. The teller confirmed that it was $1.017 so I placed an order for $400 worth of Euros.
When I got home and checked the web the "official" rate was $1.0879 without the normal fee the banks charge for foreign exchange. Called the branch and questioned the error and was told they weren't sure if they could stop the transaction or not. The rate they now gave over the phone was $1.16.
Pretty sloppy for being a bank and all.
The customer service at this PNC branch has exceeded my expectations. Manager David Landals helped me get organized in a way that has helped me grow my business. I recommend that any young entrepreneur or start up to get signed up with their business banking services as it can be difficult for an artist/creative person to get organized. David's patience and zen-like quality made it much easier.
