MyBankTracker rated Regions Bank based on the following criteria that includes real customer reviews and bank fees, among others. Our bank report card is a proprietary rating system that highlights the financial health and stability of the bank.
Long story short! I read these horrible reviews... Then i opened an account (yes stupid me! ) i thought to myself, no bank can honestly be that bad. Can they? Yes..Oh yes they can. I'm not one to air "dirty laundry. " but i will tell you this.. In two weeks, two weeks mind you.. They managed to mess up my savings and checking. Charged me two nsf fees (which in fairness to them they did refund ) saying "this is very unusual. Blah blah blah." but then...
They proceeded to put a "hold" on my account... (which i didn't even know about until i called them) when they put a hold on an account the account holder is welcome to make deposits.. But cant do anything else. Cant use a debit card. Cant make a withdrawal. Literally. Nothing. They say this is done to protect your account. Lol.. Really? Seriously?
Not to mention.. Messing up two check orders back to back. Like i said in the beginning.. This is my fault for not trusting the reviews i read.Take it from me. Do yourself a favor. Believe these reviews... People including me aren't wasting time signing up to post reviews just for the fun of it. Oh. I almost forgot! Regions charges $25 per account (savings and checking) if you close your account within six months!
Regions security department recently made me aware my Checkcard had been hacked/cloned and instructed me to visit the local branch. Upon my visit to the local Regions Snellville, Ga Branch, the Manager and her district Manager requested I return on a specific date/time after she could not answer a few questions. However, upon my return I was shocked to discover Snellville Branch Manager requested a Police presence during my visit that was unrelated to the fraudulent activity.
I have never yelled, use profane language, nor behaved in any manner other than professional while in the Snellville Regions Branch yet it's manager on February 20, 2015 has acted to close my account effectively on March 05, 2015 irrespective of an excellent account history. This all is very disturbing.
It seems that being Hacked While Black is enough for Regions's Snellville location to dismiss your concerns; treat you like a criminal when you have been victimized; and close your account when you ask questions.
I have filed an internal complaint with Regions.
When i moved to utah, i was disappointed that no regions branches are in my area. I held off on closing my account for about a year because my experience with regions over several years was great. Now i'm reminded why. My current bank, bank of american fork, does not treat customers nearly as well as regions. When i had a purchase dispute a few years ago with a fraudulent vendor, regions acted as my ally and took care of the issue immediately and credited my account with kindness and responsiveness.
Even though it was a $20 dispute, they treated it with the respect of a $2,000 issue. My current bank has treated a recent dispute for the same amount ($20) with the same disrespect as the vendor who never mailed the item i ordered. First, they called the vendor and agreed to a compromise without asking me if it was okay, and now they're ignoring my requests for followup. The difference between the way regions made me feel like a valued customer and the way my current bank treats me is night and day.
Regions also took care of other issues with my account as they arose here and there, always with a prompt care for the fact that my money matters to me. If regions ever opens a branch in the salt lake city area, i will make a beeline to that location!
