I was unfortunatley drawn to suntrust for a new mortgage on a home we were interested in buying. With a closing date in the way distant (3 mos as requested by the sellers), all was well. 1 month before closing, we had delivered all of the items that were required for the underwriters to proceed and the closing date and time had been settled as the date recommended by suntrust. Based on their information, we gave our notice to our apartment rental and scheduled movers. Unfortunately for us, the closing date came and went. We had to leave our apartment as they had rented out to someone else. We had no place to keep our furniture and had no place to stay. We are almost a week into this and there is still no news from them. We are continuing to pay for a hotel and storage fees. Excuses of overbooked underwriters is no longer acceptable to me. Managers won't return a call and are apparently fine with everyone else receiving my wrath. "dream house and good rates are too good to be true" should be their new motto.
Been doing business with this particular branch for decades and have seen countless management changes, sadly more so in the last couple of years, and it seems like the talent level gets worse each time. The young lady currently in charge might have just set a brand new low in professionalism and leadership. I am accustomed to knowing the managers of this branch on a personal level and the few times I went there, the door was closed and the cell phone out. This has happened on at least two occasions. Most recently, I needed management assistance with some check payments and I contacted the branch but other members of her staff answered and she never bothered to call back. What is going on?? I could try justifying her behavior but that isn't really my job and, if she can't do hers, maybe she shouldn't be in charge of a banking office that in my opinion has practically unrivaled heritage in McLean. I am beyond disappointed at this stage and it would be real easy to take my business elsewhere but I have family and friends who still bank with Suntrust and deserve a much better point of contact. Change her please!
This bank does not take responsibility for their employees mistakes and refuses to correct the errors. They like to pass the blame to other banks as they do not have the courage to recognize what they did. Customer service is bad. Some clerks get upset because you ask them questions or clarifications. The bank interest is a joke. Bank managers do not know anything and depend of their employees to perform any transaction. Because of their lack of knowlowge there are too many errors in the transactions. Be careful and double check as you will miss money.
