I want to take all my money out and take it somewhere else

I have had many bank experiences over the last 10 years, one being how I've had to change my checkbooks because of new ownerships. I finally ended up with TCF Bank. I have had some minor issues but they always get resolved. My last banking experience got me to the point where I was telling the employee "I'm taking all my money out and going somewhere else". I was upset because I wanted to activate my new debit card and I had to pay a fee even though it was at a ATM at a TCF Bank. I went through the ATM and it used to be where you had that option "activate". No longer there, so I just pushed a button, maybe show my balances, not even sure, I never use the ATM> I went to the desk just to find out if I was activated and found out that I was, but it "only" cost me $1.50. Okay, yes, only $1.50, but the fact was I went to a TCF bank exclusively so that I could activate for free. I was so pissed off and I wanted to take all my money out and take it somewhere else, based on principle. I didn't. A couple of days later, the TCF banking manager called me personally and reassured me that the fee would be taken off. I wish I would have asked for him sooner. I only started going to this branch because of this manager. He is such an asset to this industry, I can't even say enough! We need more people like this! He took care of my "1.50" and as ridiculous as it sounds, my $1.50 was important enough for him to make the call and deem me enough as a valued customer. So rare in this time and age. Thank you TCF

Horrible

TCF Bank is the worst bank I have ever dealt with. They constantly change their policies on what fees will be charged, how they are assessed, and how to read them when they are applied to your account. The customer service is horrible and the employee turn around rate is very high (They must treat their employees bad too)! I will be closing my account as soon as I can get to a location.

Total Fly By Night Bank W/children Running These Little Branches, They're Gonna Take You're Money & That's It, Stay Away

They charge you every chance they can, i had items in pending and the order they were in i should have been charged 1 overdraft fee of $37. Well they took and changed it around so they could get me 4 times 1 day then 2 times the second even though i brought them cash before 3:00 pm. The teller told me i'd be fine since i brought cash & wouldn't get od fees, well they didn't honor that, they charged me anyhow. They just take any trust you have in their bank and wipe their butts with it. Plus they don't have allot to offer like a credit union or normal bank like visas or loans. Just stay away, they don't know how to treat their customers. The ceo or the higher ups are not so bad but talking to one is impossible. Your best option if you do bank tcf & have problems is to write a letter. The staff at these fly by night branches are youngsters that obey the computer, don't believe in the customer or that we are always right. They're just scared little kids at a job they know nothing about except how to do basic math. Good luck to all that don't heed my advice.
