Terrible Customer Service and High Fees

I was just recently charged $148.00 in NSF fees ($38.00 each) when my account was not overdrawn. I called the 800 number and the lady was less than helpful. She offered me a refund of one of the $38.00 fees as a "courtesy." I went to a branch near work to talk to someone and the person at the branch was even worse. I've filed a BBB complaint and if necessary I will file an OCC.gov complaint. This bank is terrible. I can't wait to find another bank to do business with. It's funny that they offer $25.00 for referring a friend. Why not spend some time just keeping your customers instead of driving them off. I wouldn't refer someone I didn't like to the bank let alone a friend or family member.

Worst of the worst

There is validation that they are in violation of multiple federal laws and rules, and when found in violation, THEY get nasty! On top of that, they collect charitable donations from customers, then do press releases about how much money THEY raised for charity. Then THEY take the tax break on those customer-donations. I could go on for 2 weeks from Tuesday. Horrible, unethical and devious people.

TCF And Briarwood Branch Incompentencies

I have had numerous experiences with tcf which, after decades of loyalty since great lakes, the original bank, was formed. The personalized service has completely disappeared. The staff rotation guarantees that you will never get to know anyone that works there. Recently, the manager at the briarwood branch, after failing to explain or check with any superior, simply turned her back and rudely dismissed me.

When asked to give me the name of her superior, she refused. Interesting episode. It is a hopeless situation. I am moving my business 20 yards away to chase. They have a far superior organization. Able to accept wire transfers from international banks, a level of financial information that is satisfying my needs both small and large. Tcf should not be considered a place that cares much at all about real customer service. And..

We are supposed to entrust them with our money?
