About The Citizens Bank of Philadelphia, Mississippi

In 1908 forty-eight (48) individuals set out to make banking a reality in the small sleepy town of Philadelphia, Mississippi located in the heart of Neshoba County. These visionaries together worked to form the town's very first national bank by applying for a national bank charter. These forty-eight individuals became the bank's first stockholders raising capital in the amount of $50,000.00 and a $5,000.00 surplus to open the doors of what was then known as The First National Bank.
