Here in South florida Wells fargo charges more fees and has more resctritions than in any other state (the bankers themselves have told me).The phone reps at the call centers always tell something is "white" then the bankers at the branch will tell you it's "black" I was set up with this "way to save" crap without knowing I can only touch my savings 5 times a month otherwise will get hit with a $15 fee...plus if you have "overdraft protection" you'll also get charged $12.50 for transferring you money to cover the transaction. I've been hit with the $15 fee more than 5 times in the last 2 weeks! I've talkd to the bankers and they'll refund the $15, then get charged again the next day. Transactions take too long to post (unlike citibank which will post transactns almost immediately). Wells fargo has a hidden fee for every "free" transaction you do in your checkin or savings account. this is one of the worst banks so far in South Florida.
So everything was fine. Had an Account for years, rolled over from the old First Union, which then rolled over to Wachovia, which then became the illustrious Wells Fargo. One day, I went into a branch to do my simple banking and I allowed some over pushy sales person to open up a "few" extra accounts for me. "It will save you here, and there and everywhere in between. It will be very good for you, I promise." Never trust a banker. NEVER. So after being gouged with monthly service fees for "not doing this on this date", or "forgetting to transfer this amount on that date", in addition to the fees for each of the 6 additional accounts created, I decided to close everything because of the confusing nature of having to keep track of all of the accounts. Well, closing the accounts has proven to be the most difficult thing in the world and I would NEVER recommend this bank to anyone. Go to PNC. They will treat you MUCH better.
I very much appreciate the customer friendly attitude at my local Wells Fargo branch. The banking staff from management on down communicates a commitment to customer service and to problem solving when questions arise. I also appreciate the commitment to diversity exemplified by the employees who work at this branch. I find it a pleasure to bank there.
