KeyBank offers up a different kind of promotional deal

keybank_iconWhile every other bank is offering up cash deals to consumers to make the switch, KeyBank has chosen to offer up a different deal for a new checking account promotion in which you can receive a free Garmin GPS.  To qualify, you have to open up a new account by 4/24/2009 and make one debit card transaction and make two direct deposits or automated payments each of $100 or more by 6/26/09.

The offer is only available in areas where KeyBank has branches:  Alaska, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.

KeyBank is offering up two versions:  Garmin nuvi 205W / Garmin nuvi 265WT.  To get your hands on the more expensive version (265WT), you need to open up either the Key Privilege, Key Privilege Select, or any other business checking account.  If you meet the requirements you will receive your Garmin GPS within 90 days.

A few more key points:

  • Direct deposit transactions are limited to: payroll, social security, pension and government benefits.
  • If you close your account within 180 days of account opening, you will be charged a $25 account early closure fee.
