New York State based, North Country Savings Bank is offering a 3.00% high-yield checking account that is nationally available. Advantage Checking offers this amazing rate on deposits up to $50,000. A nice feature is that the APY rate only drops on the portion of balances that are over $50,000 to 1.01%. To earn this rate, requirements need to be met, otherwise the rate drops to 0.15%.
The monthly requirements are:
- 10 MasterCard debit card purchases
- One direct deposit or automatic payment
- Enroll and receive e-statements
After review it seems the only restrictions are that all applicants must be U.S. residents and at least 18 years of age.
