KeyBank Expands Into Colorado Offers CD Rate Special & $200 Checking Account Bonus
This bank deal has expired. For the most up to date bank deals, check out our fresh list of bank deals.
For any consumers who live in the state of Colorado and are currently looking for a new bank, you may want to take a few minutes to check out KeyBank. Colorado seems to be KeyBank’s first venture away from the Northwest or Northeast (outside of Florida) and a sign that they may be looking to expand across the country. For more information around KeyBank, make sure to visit there profile page. To find a location near you, visit their special promotional page by clicking here.
To celebrate the expansion, KeyBank is offering a 16-month and 32-month CD Special with APY rates of 1.75% and 2.75%. The rates are somewhat competitive, but the minimum deposit of $10,000 is fairly high compared to what is available. For example, Discover Bank has a 2.35% APY on a 30-month CD with a minimum deposit of $2,500 and ING Direct’s 2.10% APY 12-month CD with no minimum deposit is surely to drive more openings. Additionally these CD Specials are exclusive to the new Colorado branches only.
The really special deal is the $200 checking bonus available to anyone who opens a KeyBank account through one of the new locations. The deal is not available or promoted on it’s website; instead a print ad has been running in the Denver Post. You can see the ad by clicking here. To earn the bonus you will need to open the account by 12/4/09 and make one debit card transaction and a combination of two direct deposits and/or automatic payments each of $100 or more by 2/5/10.
Currently, KeyBank has not received warm reviews on My Bank Tracker from it’s members, you can read these review here. If you are current KeyBank member and have had a good experience, make sure to post a review so that other consumers know what to expect.
