If you currently live in a state with a National City Bank branch (see below for list) that has not yet been converted to PNC, then you now have until 12/19/2009 to take advantage of their $300 checking account promotion.
National City promotion
Originally scheduled to end on November 28, 2009, National City has extend this offer and added 50,000 free points when you open a checking account with direct deposit and actively use your VISA checkcard feature. A $50 minimum deposit is needed to be eligible for this promotion.

How to Receive the Bonus
Steps to earning the full $300 bonus:
- $100: Establish direct deposit of at least $400 and make 10 check card purchases in the first 60 days of the account.
- $100: Keep the direct deposit and complete an additional 25 check card purchases by 3/31/2010.
- $100: Keep the direct deposit and complete an additional 25 Check Card purchases by 5/31/2010.
A branch visit is required to redeem this promotion. Branch locations exist in the following states – FL, IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, OH, PA and WI.
NOTE: There is a $50 minimum fee to open the savings and checking accounts that do not have monthly automatic activity (direct deposit, online bill payment or ACH payment) and they will be hit with a monthly fee of $12.
