If you have seen and remember any banking commercial from 2009, chances are it was probably an Ally Bank ad. Since May of 2009, Ally Bank has been actively promoting the new bank through a number of media channels, including online, print and of course television. The next phase of the campaign will launch today and Ally has decided to continue the theme of using kids as their spokesperson.
Two New Commercials
Ally will be starting the year with two new television commercials. The new ads, like the previous ones, will show children confronted by an adult who upsets and tricks them by offering deals with terms that may not be as clear as they first seem. The reaction you will see from the children is Ally’s attempt to represent how consumers feel when they experience such actions from other banks.
One of the new commercials, leaked today, shows a boy retrieving candy eggs, while a man in a suit secretly eats each egg the boy finds. Once the boy catches him, the man defends his actions by saying that he is extracting an “egg management fee.” This will be followed by the classic Ally announcer that says, “we don’t eat away at your savings fees.”
Continuing the Theme
The decision to continue with this theme was based on the success from the prior campaign.
Last week, Ally Bank was awarded the top position as the best online bank website. Ally also let indicated that data shows 86.5 percent of consumers are “satisfied” or “extremely satisfied” with Ally overall, which aligns with their 4.5 star rating on MyBankTracker.com
