Available through March 26th, Citizens Bank is offering new consumers an opportunity to earn $220 in bonuses when they open a personal checking account and complete a few requirements.

How to Qualify for The Bonus

The bonus is broken up into 4 different requirements, each rewarding you with an additional bonus.   The first three, which combined add up to $100 in bonuses, are the easiest to capitalize on:

  • $50 for using direct deposit at least once for $250 or more
  • $25 for completing 5 online bill payments
  • $25 for making 5 debit card or credit card purchases (signature-based)

The Final $120

To earn the last $120, you will definitely need to put in some work, but it will pay off when you get that extra money in your account.  When considering a checking account, you will want to consider the Green Checking account, with its no monthly fees and a minimum deposit of $50.   Once set up, you will need to enroll into their Green$ense program that and complete 100 debit card purchases, online bill payments or automatic payments per month for 12 months. Citizens Bank pays you 10 cents per action completed up to $120.
