ING Direct Black Friday Deals

To help holiday savers stock up on savings this year, ING Direct will offer four Black Friday and Cyber Monday specials. Below are the deals:

1. ING DIRECT will offer $683 off Easy Orange and Orange Mortgage (our mortgage products) closing costs for anyone who applies on Black Friday. Why $683? That’s what the average American will spend on gifts this holiday season, according to the National Retail Federation.
2. On Cyber Monday, November 30, ING DIRECT’s brokerage, ShareBuilder, will offer a 20 percent rebate on trades to help investors save money while they grow their investments.
3. The Orange CD special will be announced here on Black Friday.
4. The Electric Orange checking account special will be announced here on Black Friday.

PNC Virtual Wallet

Currently, PNC is offering a $100 bonus when you open an account and set up direct deposit. The payout of $100 will be credited to the eligible account within 30 days of the first Direct Deposit, which must occur within 60 days of account opening.

You have the option to choose your account of choice from the following list; Free, Performance, Performance Select Checking account or the Spend account for Virtual Wallet. The minimum amount of any single Direct Deposit must be at least $400.

Offer only available to residents of: DC, DE, IN, KY, MD, NJ, OH, PA, VA.

Virtual Wallet Account Details:

• No fees (except $0.50 per written check after the first 3 per month and the usual penalty fees)
• Free overdraft protection among linked accounts
• ATM-free rebate (but only if there’s a $2000 average monthly balance in the checking account portion)

At this time, the bank is not advertising the deal on their website but the print ad can be found here. It was advertised in the 11/15/09 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Steps to earning the full $300 bonus:

1. $100: Establish direct deposit of at least $400 and make 10 check card purchases in the first 60 days of the account.
2. $100: Keep the direct deposit and complete an additional 25 check card purchases by 3/31/2010.
3. $100: Keep the direct deposit and complete an additional 25 Check Card purchases by 5/31/2010.

A branch visit is required to redeem this promotion. Branch locations exist in the following states – FL, IL, IN, KY, MI, MO, OH, PA and WI.

NOTE: There is a $50 minimum fee to open the account and checking accounts that do not have monthly automatic activity (direct deposit, online bill payment or ACH payment) will be hit with a monthly fee of $12.

AIG Bank Promotion

• Mortgage Promotion: Consumers who apply for a first mortgage with AIG Bank between November 1, 2009 and December 31, 2009 and close on that loan by June 30, 2010 will receive a $500 credit toward their closing costs.
• HELOC Promotion: AIG Bank will provide a credit up to $2,000 at closing on HELOC’s to offset closing costs and the appraisal fee for a HELOC in first lien position
  • Up to a $1,000 credit for second liens.

Both offers may not be used with any other AIG Bank closing cost credit or promotion.

What is a First Lien and Second Lien HELOC:

In most cases home owners will receive a home equity line of credit after they have already received a mortgage.  This makes the HELOC a second mortgage. So, how can a HELOC become a consumers first mortgage, well lets look at the following example (provided by Quicken Loans):

• Let’s say you have a home worth $100,000 that you obtained with a traditional first mortgage. You’ve paid off $75,000 of the principal on that mortgage and you owe $25,000 (in principal). If you got a home equity line of credit, you could use the money you get from the HELOC to pay off the first mortgage. You no longer have a first mortgage, so the HELOC then becomes your first lien.

Harris Bank is also currently offering an opportunity for new account members to earn up to $250 in bonuses if they open an Interest-Checking account by November 30,2009. The bonus is broken out into three parts, which are:

The small print is as follows:

• Open any new personal checking account,

• Establish one monthly recurring direct deposit of at least $250 to your new account OR pay 10 bills online

If you choose to take the direct deposit option, make sure the first post is active in your account within 60 calendar days of your account opening date. This 60 day requirement also applied to the 10 bill payments. The bonus will be credited to your account within 60 days after satisfaction of all necessary conditions. Also, don’t forget that Bank of the West will report the value of the offer to the IRS on Form 1099.

Chase Blink

Now, wait, its not quite as easy as it seems; a “blink” is the term used to describe any contactless purchase made by holding your Chase Debit Card up to a secure reader instead of swiping your card.  Blinking makes it just that much easier to use your Chase Debit, and the capability has been popping up in more and more places lately.  To qualify for the $10 cash award promotion, your card must first be enrolled in blink purchasing at chase.com/Debitblink or at a Chase branch.

To earn the $10 award you need to complete the following:

• Complete 3 blink purchases, of at least $5 per purchase

• Purchases must be made using the enrolled Chase Debit Card by December 31, 2009.

To acquire the bonus you need to complete the following requirements:
