Awful

It takes too long to get online banking set up. The fees are far too expensive. I don't need down-home attention. I need convenience and Bancorpsouth is not providing it.

Online banking has been a nightmare

I have been trying to set up online banking with bill pay for over a week now for several accounts. It isn't user friendly and has many bugs and glitches. This establishment appears to be about 7 years behind everyone else. When you set up the online banking you better put every account you want in there then or you will have to call a customer service person to have them added and will have to wait one to two business days before you can login again. And it's even worse for bill pay because you can only add one account and you have to wait day(s) before they approve your bill pay. If you want more than one account on bill pay you have to call customer service and have them add those and wait Again for days before it will let you in. Then to add insult to injury every night that I have tried to login to the bill pay service it acts like I don't exist. I am wondering if it is only accessible during business hours...which defeats the purpose of having this service... And to go ahead and sever the head .... You can't even talk to a customer service rep but from 8-7cst Monday through Friday and 8-5 on Saturday. if you are like me you would like the option to be able to work on things after everything has wound down for the evening. Well you can hang it up with them. I have been into the branch no less than 5 times trying to get this thing set up and talked to customer service numerous times. In a nutshell I would liken this experience to walking on broken glass barefoot. If they don't revamp this dinosaur of a system they will loose any potential online clients and frustrate the ones that do try to the point that they cancel the service and go back to writing checks or cause them to run to another bank that caters to their needs.

Horrible!!!

I have lived in several states and have never experienced such horrible customer service! I called to get the routing number to have money wired to my account and received the wrong routing number 3 times!!! When i called back to complain, no one would take any responsibility! I was so disappointed with the quality of customer service, i closed my account! How can i get 3 different routing number from 3 people at the same bank??? And none of them work!

Never use this bank, this loots you!

Very frustrating! Customer service representatives and branch staffs are try to toot you. They impose you charges by making tricks and traps. If you try to talk about problem no one knows answer. I never saw such disrespectful staffs/representatives who even laugh at you when you go to talk. They lure you in the beginning and make you open an account with this or that offer; but later on they impose on you tons of criteria and create pits where you fall. Their rules are very confusing which are intended to cheat you. Never ever think about using them. Go for Cadence or others instead!

Not military or govt. Friendly. Terrible

If you have direct deposit, you well miter than likely hadn't to wait till noon to receive your money. Even if the entity that pays you, release federal checks to bancorp south days in advance. This is terrible

I couldn't have asked for a worse bank!

First the face to face service at the bank is horrible. I experienced nothing but disrespect from every teller and "customer service" rep. I loathed going to the bank to deposit weekly checks. The worst thing I have experienced with the bank has been not my loss but my mothers. She went to the branch in Horn Lake MS to deposit $200 into my account. A few days before the deposit my account was closed. I was not informed. The account was closed after a service charge was taken out, leaving my account .59 negative. The bank let my mother deposit $200 into a closed account. Then proceeded to tell her I could withdraw the money the same day. After trying to withdraw this money three septate times I called the bank's 1888 #. I did not get any real answer about where the money went. The customer service rep had no idea there was a deposit ever made. Not a whole two hours later my mother went to the bank that she deposited the money with her deposit slip and they also had no idea where the money went and did nothing to resolve the problem. I have received no help from this bank in getting the money back to her. Oh also online banking is as primitive as going into the bank. It takes just as long.

A Kafkaesque nightmare.

Online banking system seems intentionally designed to reduce user to tears of frustration.

Good mortgage products, decent customer service face-to-face, worst online banking experience possible.

Good mortgage products, decent customer service face-to-face, worst online banking experience possible.

We opened accounts at Bancorp South when we got a mortgage through them. On the plus side, they don't sell your mortgages. They also have some nice products: one allows you to lower your monthly payment with large lump sum payment against the principal, a second allows you to refinance your loan with only minimal credit checking (you just pay closing costs). We had to move, but I'm sure we would have used these services with the interest rates down this far.

Customer service over the phone is okay, face-to-face is much better if you make a relationship with your loan officer or personal bankers. The people I dealt with knew their products pretty well.

Where this bank really disappoints is their online banking system. It takes one or two nights for any transaction to register in your balances. If you aren't careful this can result in fees. It's happened more than once that I transferred money into an account, then initiated a electronic bill pay, but wound up over-drafting because the transfer came after the payment. Another time I paid a bill, and then paid another the next day but the balance hadn't updated, so I wound up over-drafting an account. Basically, any transaction you make in the afternoon, you might not see it register until mid-day two days later.

Also electronic payments to my mortgage took days to register even though they held both accounts.

Literally every other bank posts transactions within the bank immediately, or at a minimum shows a notation that a transaction is pending for things like billpay.

Also, it takes a day before they'll post large deposits to your accounts.
