bank of america are thiefs

I am leaving bank of America, they victims of their own greed! I was charged multiple fees after I closed my account. To be more specific I was charged a monthly maintenance fee after I closed the account, then charged a non sufficient balance fee because the balance of the account was 0! Told by a rep that I needed a 0. Balance to close it

Loyalty, being a long term customer, never a late payment, high balance accounts and still can't close a refi. Twice.

After being passed around from person to person, after turning in document after document, often the same ones over and over, bank of america was unable to close a simple refi, not just once, but 2 times! WHY I gave them a second chance I cannot answer, I think I thought that as I was(yes, I will be closing all my accounts with them), what I considered(well, they did too), a premium customer, and as I had met what I though were all of their requirements, you can imagine my disappointment when they closed the application with very little or no explanation really as to why. While their people were (mostly) nice, they were ineffective and inefficient, wasting my time and money.

My Schwab broker recommended quicken loans. They work exclusively with them as a result of their high service level and customer satisfaction. I was a bit snobby and didn't think that I would like working with an online bank, but to be honest, can't think of the last time I walked into a bank branch. They're closing not just the primary refi, but also a rental property, and both in record time. And with half the paperwork, one primary contact who is professional and courteous and values my time and money, and is working with and for me to make this process as easy and pain free as possible. As I have talked to friends about this, many have a horror story about B of A. I have not heard one bad thing about Quicken, and hope to turn many people onto them - their service strategy puts them way above!

BoA = Worst bank ever!

Customer BEWARE:

This bank will rip you off with all their hidden charges. I recently open an account hoping that I can easily cash my paycheck which is also from BofA but I was wrong. They charged me from using their teller and WORST they charged me $33 for so-called "overwithdrawal limit" on my savings account. I did not know and nobody told me that There is a number of times where I can withdraw or transfer my savings account. I am doing all my transactions online though. I am now on the process of transferring all my automatic payments to my Chase account and after that I will close my account to Bank of America and will never be their customer again.

This Bank do not deserve to have even a star in rating. there are other banks out there so please AVOID BANK OF AMERICA if you don't want headache.

Horrible

There are NO banking centers in the state of Colorado. They are downsizing into a community bank. I was traveling and lost my debit card in the state of Colorado. NEVER AGAIN. I called Bank Of America's Customer service, and they was not able to wire me any money in an emergency situation. Not to mention I was put on hold countless times. The representative was very rude, and had no sympathy for me what so ever. They FAILED to take care of me. They beat around the bush, and they acted like my money was theirs. They failed to give me any of my money at all, or make suggestions about how to get it in an emergency situation. I was lied to because the supervisor told me that he could send me money through western union, and failed horribly to do so. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND BANK OF AMERICA to anyone that travels a lot. They are inconsiderate and heartless toward people that really need money in emergency situations, and they are shutting down more banking centers as we speak. They are becoming less and less dependent for people and their money. Years ago I would have rated them high, but sadly things have changed for the worst for Bank Of America.

Begrudgingly the best banking experience ever

I was prompted to write this review after some infuriating experiences with other banks -- PNC Bank for my auto loan, and First Federal for my HSA account. I found myself saying the words "I never have this problem with Bank of America". I have my checking, savings, custodial savings, and a credit card with them. I have also had a car loan and a mortgage with them and I've never had a problem with any of them. They clearly invest in technology -- their online bill pay is fantastic and their ATMs are plentiful and incredibly user friendly. I had to short sell my last house because of divorce and the whole process was surprisingly gentle and straight forward. There may be other banks that are just as good, but I feel I've taken Bank of America for granted and may be a tad spoiled. I now expect to be able to use online banking for any type of loan (talking to you PNC), to be able to view complete transaction details and make quick payments online (still talking to you, PNC), to get replacements for expired cards mailed to me before they expire (that's you, First Federal), to have payments post when they are received, and to have technology that actually works -- like being able to change my address online and have it apply to all of my accounts. As long as those things remain the same there is no possibility of me changing banks.

Worst Banking Experience EVER

I applied for a mortgage modification. It took more than 18 months to be processed. It was approved effective Nov. 2011. It has still NOT been completed even though it was effective 17 months ago. I have been in this process with them for nearly THREE years and it still isn't completed. Customer service has been terrible. They have requested the same information from me OVER AND OVER. Information coming from them has been incorrect many times. They have changed my Account Manager more than 6 times in 6 months so no one knows what is going on. I despise them and their unethical and unprofessional business practices. If I could get rid of my mortgage or change it to anyone else, I would do it immediately. Working with BOA has been my worst experience with ANY company in my entire life.

Rip-off in foreign exchange rate

I converted my canadian currency to USD and thought I will get close to what we see on yahoo finance or google finance but it was off by 8% thats huge for me. I tried to call BoA customer service but they gave BS of retail rate. I had bad experience in past as well with BoA closing my account asap.

Bank of America are Financial Terroroists

Bank of America is the worst bank in america. They have a modification program that's a scam. They still rearrange transactions if your account is overdrawn to maximize their fee's.

$35 fee for 10 cent overdraft

My account was overdrawn by 10 cents. Bank of America charged me $35. Two customer service supervisors gave conflicting reasons for the charge. My account was in overdraft for $35.10.

less than entertaining

Bank of America is practicing what they call the "Drop Off" which means that when you make a transaction that shows pending one day all of a sudden disappears a few days later giving you the false impression it had cleared and your reflecting balance is accurate when in fact it had not cleared and your balance is not accurate as the transaction was added back to your balance ( no record reflects this) yet hidden and left pending in BOA land. So without warning like magic it reappears on your statement deducting a second time from your balance which you thought was accurate after you made several transactions and transfers since the prior causing your balance to trigger an overdraft as it plummets below the previously thought accurate balance. Fortunately for me I was able to correct the balance by transferring funds in time to avoid any overdraft fees but still recieved the overdraft notice because of course it was my fault. which I am sure is why they practice the "Drop Off" maneuver so as to bleed the little guy dry. I tried to exsplain to BOA that there practice is faulty wrong and missleading as account balances can not be trusted. So unless you keep a written seperate log of your debit transactions fees are likely to follow. Of course they can not help if the merchant does not respond to the pending trans action in time so they simply must drop it off the acct until they do and around and around we go in this circular un ending diatribe. Of course these rules of theirs are well thought out by some one in a higher pay grade other than whom you are speaking with so it is fuetile to blame the parot. This has occured twice to me thus far so watch out for the "Drop Off" manuever and unless your from the planet BOA dont exspect them to understand your logic.

A-Holes now charge overdraft fees on savings accounts!!

I've been banking with BofA for about 7 years or so and I have dealt with their shady practices, they have gone beyond reproach; they NOW charge OVERDRAFT FEES FOR A SAVINGS ACCOUNT, beware, you have been warned.

When I called the rep about this she tried to play it off by circumventing my actual question by saying "well there are some things that can cause overdraft fees to occur..yada yada yada" I told her, that I know that, but that this was new to SAVINGS ACCOUNT. I knew the BS lines so I just hung up. If you "transfer" beware that you may be charged an overdraft fee if your savings account is overdrawn by one cent.
