Citi Refinance

I went for a refinance loan with CITI last September. I still have not closed.

CITI's employees are the worst. God forbid if they would ever inform you of anything. and they are always off work and not in the office.

This the best NON-customer support ever.

It sickens me to think that my hard earned house payment is going to these people to be employed when there are so many other human beings that would gladly treat another human being with respect.

DO NOT REFINANCE WITH CITI MORTGAGE!!!!!!!!

Laughable 'mobile app'

I don't expect much from a bank, just low fees and a decent mobile app so that I can track my expenses and manage my accounts.

Citibank's 'mobile app' for Android is just a link to a mobile version of their website. It is extremely slow (takes over 30 seconds to initially start up) and I need to tediously log in just as I would on their website. It's barely mobile optimized, so is difficult to use on my phone screen, and I am currently locked out because I forgot my password due to illogical password 'minimum security' requirements.

In addition, the fees of Citibank are shocking. I have been transferring money from overseas and Citibank charge me $10 to receive each payment. They charge me $25 to make each payment (wire transfer). Yet I can deposit a check for free. Which is more work for Citi - a mostly automated deposit that someone *may* have to review, but only if Citi's system isn't advanced enough; or a physical piece of paper being handed to teller, who then loads up my account details and manually types values, before Citi then verifies with the other bank that the check is legitimate?

On that note, the whole system is broken. I can only make 10 (or is it 5?) ATM transactions per month, but I can make unlimited visits to the teller? How does that make sense? Every time I go to a branch there is someone greeting me! But IT'S A BANK, not a restaurant or a hotel. I don't care if you are nice, I care if you are efficient, cheap, and competent. Fire those people and make some investments in decent technology.

negative- fees, fees, fees!

I opened an account with Citibank because I was traveling abroad and was told they operate in each country I was going to. Once I got to those countries, even if I used a Citibank ATM I was charged $2 each time (in addition to their 3% foreign fee) for use of a "non-Citibank" ATM. When I finally got home and tried to dispute the charges they told me that they do in fact charge you to use their ATMs, just because you are abroad. I was also told that the $10 monthly service fee would be waived, only to find out later that it wasn't. Instead of saving myself fees while traveling, I lost over $60 to Citibank fees. Would not recommend this bank to anyone, ever.

worst ever

I was promised to get a $700 back as an incentive when I applied for a refinance through citi at work program plus opening a checking account. This was all done with Samuel Ayala, a banker or a financial advisor at the El Cajon Branch. Through out the loan process I had asked and reminded Samuel about making sure that I will get the refund and he reassured me that I will get the refund even when I wanted to close the checking account he told me not to and wait until the loan closes. After the loan closed which was schedule for a weekend; the $700 was included in the closing cost and I called Samuel right away on Monday he said he's sure I didn't get charged for it. Almost 2 month later I have going back and forth with phone calls and going to the branch he tells me I don't qualify for it because I did not set up a direct deposit. this is the first time he mentions this, there's a form that he should have given it to me or explained all the details for getting that credit but he didn't give me the form nor the details of setting up a direct deposit and during the entire 4 months that took to close the loan he repeatedly said I will get the credit for $700. I say this is pure bad customer service and deceiving customer. He did not admit that he did not give me the form nor that he didn't provide all the details. I consider him a lier and dishonest and they don't care about customers they lie as they are drinking water. Please do not do any business with this bank for any thing.

An Absolute Disaster, The Worst Ever Experience.

â? ¢ i issue a payment to amex, it is returned. â? ¢ i send the payment for a larger amount

â? ¢ amex re-issues payment of first payment usd and i realize the 2nd will also be paid. â? ¢ i call amex and i request to stop it, but they inform that only my bank can do that. â? ¢ may 15 i place a stop with citibank and i ask if it is 100% sure: i am told yes, but for electronic payments â?? We need 2 business days in advanceâ?? â? ¢ may 17 i call to see if all is in place for the stop payment and i ask: are you 100% sure the payment will not be isued, i am told yes. â? ¢ may 19th: the money has left the account and i call again. â? ¢ may 20th : i speak with the call center, mgr, and he tells me he is sorry for the mistake the bank made, and that the money will be available on monday in my account. He tells me that he will call the branch and instruct them. I am assured once again the money will not leave my account. â? ¢ may 22: the money is not in the account, now i am told i need to talk to amex to get it back. I try to talk to the branch and we get a "nelson", who actually says he will talk to the manager. I spefically ask to get a confirmation via email of who he is. I donâ?? T. I specifically ask the call center to record that i request to talk to the branch manager: the pass me to a answering service. I specifically ask to be called back by the first person : i am not called back. â? ¢ i specifically and very clearly state that payments have been made and that the branch should ensure that they are payed and i am not charged any fee for any return, and that the payments are done as if the funds would be available as i was told they would be: both people on the line say they have understood me. I am at the branch: nelson does not exist. In 4 occasions i was told something that was not true:

â?? You can put a stop payment on this chargeâ?? : not true

Bogus checks being written on this branch in the name of Mckinsey & Company

When speaking to customer service. I received absolutely no help

Elaine was completely uncooperative. They do not seem to care that bogus checks are being written on their branch nor do they seem to be interested in protecting their customers.

priti choudhary bad service

the teller priti choudhary had a horrible attitude. she did not treat the customer with respect. she did not bother to explain something again when the customer was confused, and she gave such an impatient attitude through out the entire service. also, she rolled her eyes too many times, but that's rude and uneducated.

Terrible customer service; uneducated

I specifically asked the rep PRIOR to even signing up with their credit about the bal transfer checks and their use/purpose bec I was unfamiliar with them. Either way they said "it's just like sliding your card to someone who doesn't take visa." Great. So I signed up received card & checks and signed a check out to my handyman (the soul purpose of this ard) and his blank rejected then! Upon calling customer service I was told "you should open a checking acct for your purpose not a credit" I proceeded to get angry and said that the entire convo I had was recorded and that is what the rep said to do!! She said she couldn't do anything l, I asked for the bal txr fee to be removed if I were to write it to myself and she said no we can't do that but we can close your acct. Well I closed it and said their customer service sucks and the reps need some education about the services they provide. Screw them. Now I'm out cash for a job I was told could be added to credit because of them!!

Very disappointing, I am moving out my money ASAP

I don't know where to start but maybe staing that Citibank has provided by far the worst customer service experience until this moment.

I deposited a check that I wrote to myself from another financial institution,a s I wante dto move money between accounts without incurring unneeded wire transfer fees.

After I found otu it would take 7 days to clear the check, I did ask for it to be cancelled and I was going to wire the money (so it would be available on the next business day).

They were not able to do that. So I did call y other financial isntitution from which the check came, and they immediately stopped the payment.

fast forward one week - my citibank account balance was now reflecting a negative balance, for twice the amount I had initially planned on depositing.

I spent many hours on the phone trying to understand what happened - no resolution whatsoever. I am not able to get my funds, and no one explained why I have such a huge negative balance (which will result in more fees I am sure).

I do not wish to do business with a partner that makes rules on their own and would not even explain the reasoning behind them. Not to mention I cannot get my funds when I need them.

Terrible experience! Never again will I deal with Citibank!
