If you are looking for a construction loan bypass this bank. They owe you no duty to protect you. Everything they do is for the use and benefit of the bank and not for the benefit or protection of the borrower. Check my blog at tarider1.blogspot.com

First Citizens is the worst bank I have ever dealt with in my entire life.

The only reason I used 1s below is because negative numbers were not available.

First Citizens Bank is the worst bank we have ever dealt with.

They gave our construction loan funds to an unlicensed builder. The information they had in their file should have alerted a third grader that this guy was shady. Had they shared the information with us, we would not be in the mess we are today or out over half a million dollars.

The bank paid out more than $104,000 in loan draws without our authorization. First they said we authorized the draws by email. When they could not produce the emails, the bank attorney told the construction loan officer to change his records to verbal authorizations. When we produced our phone records to show there were no calls, they said they did not need our authorization anyway.

When we found out the builder was unlicensed and alerted the bank and would not authorize those unauthorized draws the loan officer threatened us and stated we would get no more money unless we authorized the draws. The bank flipped the loan from a construction loan to a fixed rate loan at the capped rate of 6.25% with a payment based on the entire loan amount even though more that 95,000 dollars remained in the construction loan. There was no certificate of occupancy when they flipped the loan and using our savings and retirement accounts, it took us 6 months to get a C/O on the house.

The bank paid out 74% of the loan for 40 to 50% of the work much of that incorrectly done. They have made our property unmarketable. There are so many repairs that remain to be done, with our funds exhausted, it is impossible to complete the house. We have produced invoices and proposals for the bank to show our expenditures but they state that those numbers are made up and they refer to us as noise. We can not abandon the property which was our land free and clear. There is no way as senior citizens that we will recover as a result of the mistakes made by First Citizens bank.

Shady Bank and Unethical Senior Financial Service Representative

The Senior Financial Service Rep. at the Morrison Blvd branch in Charlotte, misled us on a 2nd mortgage rate right up until we signed the papers at closing. Prior to the closing and at the closing (with five witnesses present), she confirmed that our interest rate would go down 1/4% once we opened a checking account with First Citizens and set up automatic monthly draft and then the new rate would go into effect within two weeks. After we did this, the rate was not adjusted so when following up with the Senior Financial Service Rep, she resorted to "bait and switch" tactics and claimed we "misunderstood". Her direct report won't even respond and the Ethics Department is stalling. Beware: this is a shady financial institution with unethical employees! It's shocking that they are still in business!

Online Banking is always 1 day behind, not an hour but a whole day?

you have an account with several monthy drafts and you need to see your account, but it is 1 day behind. Should be embarrassing to First Citizens Bank

Outrageous Fees! ///poor Customer Service/// Long 12-20 Minutes On Hold.

I was just informed first citizens bank charges $50. 00 for an ira certificate of deposit transfer. That is if your close or transfer your ira cd they charge you $50. 00. That is truly outrageous! It is simply theft. I have banked with first citizens bank for over twenty years. This hidden fee was a complete surprise. I have also received conflicting information, via phone customer service. I have lost confidence with first citizens bank and trust.

A great bank to do business with; excellent service!

In the years that I have had accounts with First Citizens Bank and Trust (Raleigh, NC) I have been extremely pleased with these accounts, what they offer and how they are managed.

I appreciate their people who take an interest in their customers and provide excellent customer service.

I am pleased to recommend First Citizens Bank and Trust (Raleigh, NC) to anyone needing a full service bank that can handle all of your needs and make you feel like you, the customer are the most important thing to them.

I have ach deposits 4 times a month, my depost financial company transfer money in 24 hours take first citizen 3 to 5 days to post to my account. I am convinced this i how they can make money to charge overdraft fees. You talk to your branch they say talk to corp and visa versa. Sad that small bank can be so impersonal.

They dont seem to care for my business and make thing your problem if you need help.

I had a charge on my acount that i never resived the products for i have tried to fight them but with no help from first citizens. I was told that Chad had signed for the pakage this is not my name and i dont even know a Chad period, in short was told it was my problem. I just think its sad that they want to help the people that have stole money from me, more than they help the people that have acounts with this bank. The amount is almost $300.00 dollars by the way.

They are the worst bank I've ever had any experience with.

Completely inexperienced tellers gossiping about your personal life and checking your bank account just to nose into your life!!! And this bank has insufficient funds so any transfer in your bank may actually cause their confusion because they are using your money for whatever risky investment they have and this bank was robbed before (feel free to Google it). You just don't feel you have any safety with them. You don't know if this bank is going through financial difficulties or will be bankrupt overnight, but they are just not the one you know that will stand there after a storm.
