Hard to reach customer service on the phone, hard to get money out

Had my 401K account with them for a while. As I have always used their website, there wasn't any issues. I mean they probably charge you hidden fees just like any other 401K providers, and the choices of instrument was average but I didn't much to complain about.

However the trouble came when I try to roll my money over to a rollover IRA account. Here is a list:

1. It's impossible to get to a live person on the phone. If you enter your account and password, there is no option to talk to a live person. And if you figure out to talk to a live person w/o entering your account information, the person would redirect you to enter your account info (and re-assure you they will stay on the line with you) then the live person is gone after you enter your account #. I've tried this a few times....

2. It seems like they are blocking my phone now, whenever I try to connect to a live person, it asks me to fill out a survey. Then everything goes silent from there.

3. If I can't move my 401K money out from them, what's the point, is this a ponzi scheme or something?

4. As I keep trying, I somehow got to a person deals w/ customer experience. And he asked me questions like "did you enter your account #, and password?" in a very demeaning way as if I am trying to break into an account or how to use their phone system at all (I have a master degree in engineering for the sake of it ...)

5. After spending 2 hours getting all the details done, the person told me he has to get off work and redirected me to the next person. However, the next person had no clue what happened & I had to re-do everything again.

----------------------

*In case you have to call them. Enter your account info first & make sure SSN is used, then pressed 0 (note they never mention that option but it's there) to get to customer service.

Now Cap 1 360 (Join and earn $50 Bonus)

This bank really takes security into great detail. They have great deals, and very low fees. They do not charge an overdraft fee, just a very very small amount of interest if you do overdraft.

For a $50 bonus! (Checking) or $25 for Savings click here!

https://home.capitalone360.com/referafriend?save=ZP2dn5yo1F

I was able to open a checking account with no Min. (I did deposit $5.00 into the account just to link my regular banking account). I also opened a no fee savings account! Again no Min. (I put $1.00 in)

The biggest downside to cap 1 360 is their lack of free checks. Most banks offer free checks now but this isn't a big deal for myself.

I have been a member for a while!! No problems yet! I closed my Ally account because I like the features of this account better.

Last, if you have children you can make them a kids account and they have their own sign in information if you would like! Great feature!

Ing Direct

I wrote to Ing's customer service last Saturday when we found that my husbands bank statement and one of mine had not been sent to us. I gave them the account numbers and customer numbers of both of us. I received an email today saying they couldn't act on the email..... some customer service there, huh? I would have to call in. The support rep was no use whatsoever and insisted I set up password so she could send the statements. They have all the information on file as to who we are and where we live. So why can't they send us statements they owe us. We will be moving our accounts away.

Horrendus customer experience- they demanded I tell them my family members names

Pro tip: If you are on the phone with account security when creating a savings account make sure absolutely nobody is talking in the background. Otherwise they will ask "Is there any reason why someone is whispering" and will then claim that "someone else is on the line in he house whispering". Oh, I forgot. They may also ask for the names of your family members in the room with you because they did indeed hear whispering and they "know what they heard". At least that was my first (and last) experience with this company. You work in a call center, not for the CIA. Unbelievable.

ING Direct Rip Off

I've been with ING Direct for 2 plus years, but am leaving now because of how they handle canceling checks.

First, they remove the funds for any online check immediately. If there is any problem with the check and it can't be cashed, you need to pay $25 to get the money back and then it takes several days. If you can retreive the check, it can be mailed back to them and after a couple of weeks they will return the money, but that's awfully long to get YOUR money back. The $25 fee is fairly hidden, so only after cancelling the check which will not be deposited do you find out that it will cost you $25. If the check isn't deposited after 90 days, they will return the money, but that's only because they are legally required to do so.

The whole thing feels very dirty, a little like being robbed. Not what I want from my bank!

Ing Bank Nl, Beware Of Their Atm Machine!

In the morning of first week january 2013 i have tried to withdraw cash using my master creditcard at one of ing bank nl , atm machines located at one of the train station in the town of hoofddorp. However, i forgot my pin number and have pinned in with the wrong number.. The atm machine had automatically rejected my attempt & displayed that the pinnumber was incorrect and ejected my card. I cancelled to pursue the withdrawal as i needed to catch a flight at schiphol airport. In the evening same day, i checked my mastercard online balance statement and saw that the morning unauthorised transaction which was rejected was already on pending cashed out by ingbank. I called neteller uk the card issuer immediately and told them about the inccident. They checked their systems and told me that the would refund the money within 2weeks. However, 2 days later ing bank nl have had processed the unauthorised withdrawal and collected the money and charging my mastercard. I was and am still shocked with this inccident. Now neteller is chasing mastercard to chargeback ing bank nl for the unauthorised money. I am now wondering whatelses ingbank nl would do to other people creditcards? Should we call this as a fraud or a theft? How desperate is ing bank to get money from the unathorised transactions from foreign credit cards? By the way, the purpose and definition of a bank is a safe institution where people(customers) go to deposite or to safe their money into the created bank account. Without customers bank is logically worthless, and in the case of ing bank nl, when customers deposits cash into their bank accounts, ing bank is charging eur10.. - for every cash deposits the customers made into their own bank accounts, how weird is this? So, other words ingbank robs their customers cash once the moneys being deposited. I think everyone should be warned about it not to go to ing bank nl, instead of giving you interests , ing bank will be charging you for it. So be aware!

Horrible Customer Service

I've been with ingdirect many years and have liked them until my experience with customer service today. Hold times are long, "music" is something akin to torture and customer service is useless.

Great Bank

After banking with ING for three years, I can safely say that it is a great bank and I have had a great experience.

Electric Orange: I have had no complaints since they finally started offering paper checks. It was my only complaint since the need for paper checks persists in the US.

Also, you can now deposit checks with the mobile app. I have done it a couple of times and it's super convenient.

I can now officially say that this is the best bank I have been a customer of. I also now just learned that they won't charge foreign transaction fees. Good to hear since I am about to go on a vacation abroad soon. Great bank.

Avoid Ing Direct

Received multiple offer for their "easy" home loans. They are anything but easy, be prepared to be declined for the most ridiculous reasons. Save your time and avoid this bankl.
