“Excellent "Home town style" bank”
Used to have Webster. They chased me away with their evil corporate greed attitude and lack of concern for their customers. I was referred to Liberty by not one, but several people. So here I am, a happy Liberty Bank customer. I would recommend this bank to anyone who still wants "personal service" that you cannot find anymore at any other banks.

“Terrible Bank”
They held an electronic fund deposit up for 4 days. Transfers had never taken longer than 24 hours. This caused 4 items to post but there were no funds. They charged 30.00 for each item paid plus a 5.00 negative balance fee. I am on a fixed income. I now have to barrow money to pay my trash and feed my dogs. Apparently, this is common practice with them
They ,make everything as difficult as possible. Need to report unauthorized charges? Want to stop them from approving all debit card purchases? Need checks? Need your statement because there's never showed up? Fine. You can have it all but only if you go into the bank. This is a rural state, they are an hour away and I am disabled. They don't care. This is my last month of their terrible, shady service. The 3rd of next month my direct deposit is going to another bank.

- No fees for using other bank's ATMs
Cons
- Web site is clunky and dated

“Poor”
Bank withdrew $40 from checking for an "inactivity" fee. I never received notification of these fees, never got a statement, or received a notification that my account was considered dormant.

“Great Bank”
This is a great local bank
They have 2 options for free (no monthly fee, no min balance) checking accounts
-Break Free checking where they reimburse you for other ATM fees
-Quater Back checking where they give you a quater back anytime you use your debit card like a credit card
There are additional checking accounts (such as interest bearing accounts) for people who keep more money in their checking account. (these have monthly fees or min balances)
You can link a savings account to your checking account for overdraft protection.
They also have a savings acount with that earns 1% interest, which is good considering ING savings rates are down to 1.1% now; plus Liberty is a real bank with real branches and real checks.
The online banking is great. They have bill pay services with e-bills, like Bank of America but in a local bank.
They also do not discourage you from using a real live teller for transactions if you perfer to. Bank of America usually has someone standing by the line encouraging people to use the ATM. I had a check to deposit that the ATM at BOA would not read and when I got inline for a teller the woman watching the line directed me over to the ATM with her to try again after I told her it didnt work.
I only wish I found them sooner and got my mortgage through them and not BOA.
The only negative I would say is that the Liberty Bank branded credit card is not actually issued or managed by Liberty Bank. It is issued and managed by Elan Card Services (which I never heard of). The card only has the Liberty Bank name on it (kind of like getting a card from BOA with your favorite sports team on it). So in my opinion it is not worth getting the credit card.
