Where can you find any bank worse than this bank?.. I don't like to recall the whole experience because it just so painful for me. Another thing is that they are very slow in processing your transactions. They will do their best to charge amount of money from you. Waiting for your transactions to reflect on your account will take forever (extremely slow), but taking money from you is extremely fast than you can imagine. Please, please, stay with your bank now or find a better bank but not this bank. Love the Ravens but difinitely not this bank. I will close my bank as soon as possible.

Personnel in Cabin John branch are very pleasant. Generally positive.

I started with M&T (nee 1st National Bank of MD) because of proximity and they were the only back to give me a free business checking account. The personnel are very pleasant at my branch. I use them only as a convenient place to use an ATM or to make small deposits.

Rates are poor, but on a par with most banks. Rediculous fee was imposed, but when I objected they made a deal in which they continue to charge a fee, but immediately credit my account for the amount of the fee so that checking remains free.

The best service is at a good credit union where I do most of my banking.

Horrible....

This bank was excellent when I joined them 4 years ago....now all of a sudden it costs me $25 a month to have the same account that I have had there for years...and their only explanation is that they are new fees and they no longer offer free checking. I will be switching as soon as I get a new account open elsewhere!

Disgusted

Thank god this is not my primary bank and let's just say I will never do any banking with them again. Trying to speak to anyone with any sort of intelligence is near impossible. Everyone I have spoken with has no desire to help me with my problem. Worst customer service I've ever had to deal with.

Great.....except the hours of operation.

What bank these days only stays open until 4pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday? Less than a quarter of a mile away from this branch are two other banks (Metro and Integrity) that stay open until 730 pm EVERY DAY!!! As much as this branch is terrific, and the people are great, if they do not adjust to the times, they will lose business.

Absolutely awful in every way.

Our mortgage was sold to M&T a few years ago and it has been the worst experience I've had in over 15 years of doing business with banks. When you call for information, you are told that there is a 3-5 day callback policy and someone will get back to you in that time. Most of the time, this never occurs or when it finally does, it's at VERY odd times (9pm, 4am, 6am). Asking for a supervisor gets you no where except hung up on.

The website for mortgage services is sub-par compared to other companies. Service charges are outrageous and not in line with other banks. I can't wait to get away from them.

Worst Bank In The History Of Banks!!!!! If I Could Give Them A 0, I Would!

If you transfer over 4 times, you are charged for every transfer you make! Being a college student, i had bills that needed to be paid and transferring was the only option to pay those bills! It was never explained to me that i couldn't transfer more than 4 times a month without being charged. Because they charged me for transferring, it put me in overdraft, where they charged me an overdraft fee! Come on now! I'm a college student trying to make a living and going to school. When i explained my situation, they told me that there is nothing they can do for me because it is not a bank error. I asked if they could do a one time courtesy refund and they said absolutely not. So i said that i was going back to wells fargo because i never had that problem before. M and t stated that this is not wells fargo and that m and t was not a good fit for me anyway. What the hell does that even mean? Then when i stated that i was closing my accounts, they stated that is a personal preference and that i should do it. What kind of customer service is that?! Needless to say, i went right over and closed my account. They can't even help out college students going to school to be a doctor... Oh yeah, they even charge you 50 cents every time you use debit! M and t might be everywhere, but i would rather drive 50 miles a day out of the way to a different bank than deal with these people ever again! Terrible customer service and they do not even care about you. If there is a wells fargo around you, i would tell you to go there instead of m and t and if you don't, you are making a huge mistake. I have never been so disrespected by a bank customer service in all my life.

The Worst Bank Experiance

I have been with M & T Bank for 4 years. When I opened the account , there wasn't any fee. No information, no notice, all of sudden, they start charging fees for my account. I am going to close the account immediately. Their costumer service is horrible.

Horrible

My husband went to the bank and requested to change our bank account from choice to free. Two months later, I go online to check the account and see they never changed the account type and charged us $15 fee for unsufficient funds. They also charge $5 for non-mtb ATM. We are closing the account and going with Citadel. Malvern Federal Bank is great as well. Very rude employees.. They will go out of business soon- mark my words.

going next door and switching to Chase....

My boyfriend and I opened our bank accounts in November, and at first had no issues. The longer we started banking with them the more apparent it was how awful they were. They refused my $75 bonus saying that I signed up past the due date even though when we opened the accounts the woman told us we would receive them. When I called and complained, they basically told me I was wrong and nobody told me that. 10 minutes later they call me back telling me I was right. Extremely unprofessional. Then, a month or so ago, we went in to see our options about opening a credit card (we need to build credit because we are trying to buy a house). As soon as we sat down with a banker they told us because neither of us are 21 (I am 20), we could not open credit cards no if ands or buts. Said it was a law and when I asked if there was any possible way around it she said no and that was it. When I went home and looked up the law, the law is actually in place for college students. If you can show proof of income you do not have to be 21, as well as various other ways you can get around having to be 21. She never ONCE asked if either of us were in college (which NEITHER of us are), or if we had reliable sources of income, which we do. I even have credit already from paying off student loans from a few years ago. After reading about all of this, I applied for a Chase freedom card online, and my application was accepted with NO HASSLE. We have since opened new checking and savings accounts with chase, and will be closing our m and t accounts as soon as they're actually open, which seems to be pretty much never.

Worst Customer Service from a supervisor

Jenna, a customer service supervisor, was beyond rude and snippy with me. When my financial documents went to my neighborâ??s house instead of mine, I called to correct it. Jenna said I should have looked over all the documents before I signed. She never once apologized for the error or even said we'll make sure this doesn't happen again. She said, "you didn't check the form, what do you want me to do about it." Also, I thought I was going to receive a $75 bonus for signing up for a checking account. I never received the $75 and Jenna said I don't meet the qualifications. I guess the two minutes that I was on the phone with her about what qualifications I didn't meet was too much to ask, she couldn't wait to hang up with me. It was obvious to me that Jenna couldn't care if the customers at that branch are happy or not she just doesn't want to have to be on the phone.
