“Too big for its britches, 3 times fraud this year : my debit card, nsf charges took 6 months to clear!”
Moved down South to small town with 2 major national banks to choose from. Parents had all their accounts at Regions for 20 some years, so decided to transferred my funds to open a regions account. Told best to link a savings account to my Green life account to eliminate any NSF charges. Would cost only $7 per charge, v.s. $35 nsf charge. Did not believe I would ever need these fees. Boy was I wrong. It seems Regions has poor atm security on their Debit card usage. Not only was my checking / debit card scammed in another state that I had not been to in over 2 years. My debit card was hit 3 times in less than a year! Other friends in
my town and other near by towns were hit with this fraud as well. I was told this by an Regions associate whom called me one evening, asking if I was purchased an X amount at a certain retail store in Florida. No, I was having coffee 3 miles from home in another state far away from Florida. I had not been to Florida for over 2 years. This associate waited over 45 mins., before notification of this theft. This person told me that several debt card hits were made to several people with the same zip code as mind. Near by zipcodes were also fraud by these same theives in Florida. Some fraud transactions were at Airport ATMs, while others were at various Florida Wells Fargo ATMS. For me, this was the third and final blow. I wanted close my account, and this Regions associate only was interested in sending me a new debit card. NO, no way I told them. I was this account closed now. I was then told I could only close down the debit card, as there would be some possible nsf charges to my account, until Regions could verify my transactions history. I had been down this road 2 times before, with each taking anywhere from 2 to 6 months to clear things up. One time $200 was taken out of my account, as another time it was $1200 taken out by thieves. The first time I was traveling in a pacific state, not able to add funds to a Region branch. Adding funds online took for ever.

“Efficient and dependable.”
I've been banking with Regions for several years now and although I sometimes use other branches, it is always a pleasant experience when I go to the Cutter Ridge branch. At first I thought it might have just been a couple of different individuals providing good service but then I noticed that every time and no matter what the reasoning behind my visit, I am always very well taken care of. It's as if my issue is there issue and they want to take care of it the best way possible. U always leave feeling great and won't go anywhere else. Just want to say thanks to you all!

“Bad Customer Service ”
I have not had the opportunity to change banks this year, but would have in September. With only two branches in my location, it was difficult. Anyways, Regions Bank has been responsible for three massive customer service miscommunications regarding my finances in the past year. The lower level agents seem uninformed about policy and procedure. There are never any solutions to my problems. There is always some irreversible magic that occurs and cannot be undone through a computer system. I will be changing banks at the end of this month. This bank is the worst bank I have ever banked with or heard of.

“Never bring solutions to the problems.”
It's the 3rd time that they charge me overdraft when i have money on my account, i call today and the person who was attend me, don't have any experience in costumer service and bring solutions to the client. I wrote a check on june 11 for $54.00 but the person who i gave it don't deposit until yesterday but when i saw my account yesterday at night i don't see any overdraft. I pass by the bank this morning to deposit some cash for the check that i give to my friend.
I call to the bank because received an email that said that my account is overdraft. The person told me that the check was deposit on June 11 this is a lie from the account representative because i have the deposit slip of that check of yesterday.
It's sad when you call to your bank looking for solutions or real answers and the only that you received is bad words and disrespect to you from your account representative who is "helping you"

“Bank account was closed by regions and the answers they gave me for this happening do not make sense! ”
I have dealt with Regions for several years, when all of a sudden they froze my account and could not give me a straight answer for doing this for over a week! The manager would not even return my phone calls! When she saw me walk into the bank she would be "too busy" to help me find out why this happened, and no one else could help me since I had to " talk to her and only her." They gave me 4 different stories as to what was going on, and said one of the signers on our account had withdrawn the money and closed the account. This particular person is on the acct, but over the past 5 years has had done NOTHING WITH THE ACCOUNT. They tried telling me in the end that she had closed the account, but could not provide me with any copies to support this, and could not tell me at which branch this took place. (After speaking with her, she confirmed that she had nothing to do with this at all!) Something very fishy is going on with this bank, and 3 months ago my debit card info was stolen, and no one had access to my debit card! I was very disgusted with the runaround they gave me for the past week compromising my business since I could not deposit any checks, nor withdraw any money from this company account. Then they didn't want to give me the payout check from this account (which was over $3,000.00). I am still thinking of filing a complaint with the local police department because they are definitely trying to cover something up!! I give praise to the tellers since they have always been very helpful to me; but this is not the case with the branch manager and the woman working underneath her! At the end, I could not even access my account information online, since that is how I do most of my banking!! I SMELL A DIRTY RAT!!! And it's with the people at the very top!!!

“Where do I even begin?”
I have used prepaid cards in the past with no the most problems. Regions is the most unorganized bank I have ever worked with. I have had to order several cards. They charge me to cash my checks even with an account. The latest issue is I used my Mobile deposit to cash my payroll check which usually is not a problem. But somehow it was declined. So I went to branch the following day to cash my check and they told me the check was cashed.... Hmmm, then where is my money?? So they suggested that I have my check resubmitted by my employer the same day. I went to deposit it at the ATM. Told me that the check had already been submitted. Really? It's an entirely different check. So now I have to go back to my employer. Do not do business with Regions... The few months have been a waste of time. Just one problem after another.

“No common sense”
I received a letter from Regions stating that they could not pay my tax bill because the legal description on my note stated a different acreage than the tax bill from the assessor's office. After reviewing by loan documents and speaking with the assessor's office, my title insurance company, and two customer service representatives, I finally figured it all out. My note states that my property is "40 acres, more or less". The assessor's office lists my property as 40.52 acres. Regions thinks that is two different things. The CS rep told me that it would take two weeks to research that matter. Two weeks to figure out 40.52 is consistent with 40, more or less?

“Very Deceptive ”
When we refinanced our mortgage with Regions in Dec 2010 we had a home equity line with BB&T. We had no intention of moving this credit line because we were happy with BB&T and saw no reason to move it. But our loan officer, Mike Newbauer, told us all would be the same and it would cost us nothing to move it to Regions. After 12 months, we had not used the credit line and we received a bill for $100. It turns out they will bill you $100 every 12 months if you don't use the credit line. We have now decided to close the line of credit, and now they want to charge us $500 for early closure. My advice is not to do business with Regions Bank and especially not to business with Mike Newbauer. We told him we did not want to move our line of credit and he deceived us about the fact that nothing would be different between BB&T and Regions. We had our line of credit with BB&T for 8 years, never used it, and were never charged a fee. I have no respect for people like Mike who just want to make a quick buck. He already was getting our refinance business so what reason was there to push for the home equity line when he knew full well and good that it was far from being "equal" with BB&T? We are now headed completely away from Regions, forever. Will never look back and hope never to see Mike Newbauer again!

“They Stole My Identity”
I opened an account at a branch in Franklin, TN and 4 weeks later I started recieving letters demanding payment for pay day loans. The loan groups had my social and this bank's routing number and my bank account. I went in to the branch to file a frau report and they wouldn't take it! They just kept telling me it was my fault and I must have been reckless with my information. After proving i was not reckless they tried to blame in on my sister who's living with me. 6 months later I'm still dealing with the identity theft and now have information showing the pay day loans were signed off by a banking representative AFTER I HAD TRIED TO FILE THE REPORT! Unbelievable.
Stay away from this bank!

“Horrible.”
My husband and I have a joint account for his direct deposit paychecks. He goes to buy something today and he can't run debit because his "pin number is corrupt". Well my husband is at work and I called customer service to try to fix this and apparently I CANNOT do it. He HAS to do it. And it's something called a "pin reminder". Well, I have had nothing but problems with this bank and think it's time for a change. If you can refer me to a good bank, please leave me a message. Thanks.
