“Enough to cover all charges but one, but charged 10 OD fees, & they hold cashiers checks”
First issue:
Well, I understand that I made a mistake and had a check that I didn't have enough to cover. So be it, I will pay the $35. But since I used my debit card 9 times that day (several charges were less than $5- one was for $1.10) I was charged $350. I had enough money to cover the 9 charges and then some, but because they put the largest charge first, I was charged 10 times. They would only refund half. I am shopping for another bank, but this seems to be the latest scam practiced by all of them in my area (except for Banner Bank, which I love but since I have moved is no longer convenient for me).
Second issue:
I discovered that I was lower on funds than I had thought, so I went to my other bank and took out more than enough to cover the deficiency. I took it out as a cashier's check to be sure it would be available at US Bank immediately. Wrong! I deposited it on Saturday, and it wasn't available until Tuesday. This resulted in 9 OD charges, (because of the aforementioned creative system of debiting). However one of these OD charges cannot be explained by any charge that I made. Did they refund it? No! They don't care!
Additional reviews for US Bank
“VERY convenient hours, reliable checking phone number”
be prepared to wait weeks for a notary
“not bad overall except the fee's are getting horrendous!”
I have been a customer since 1994 but lately having second thoughts since they are charging fee's for everything and their rates and loans are not very competitive.
“Ok bank. Local and convenient.”
Not alot of experience with bank branch. Do most of my banking online. Terrible rates compared to online banks and some credit unions. I could make as much money picking up spare change from the sidewalk for what I get in interest from US Bank money market account
