My safe box was robbed.

My safe deposit box was stolen from Gale Ranch, San Ramon CA.

I can't believe a vault without a camera with open doors during business hours. I think this is the best place for a complete crime for someone who works in this bank and who has a duplicate copy of your safe box in a vault that doesn't have any sort of cameras. I remember every time I used to visit this bank, there was like 1 or 2 workers tops available in the branch. Does this bank believe that workers are fallen angels or something? Aren't they aware that this branch is located in one of the richest cities in California?

I'm lucky my box was not totally cleared, as it seems they wanted this to be undiscovered so that they can keep on doing it for life time. I am reporting this to the police and I know that I'm not getting my valuables back, but I want to protect the future victims so that future precautions can be either taken at the bank or customers can regularly check their valuables and immediately report any missing valuables so that this matter can be taken more and more seriously with every time such a crime is committed.

Awful bank

This bank charges tricky fees all the way. They are there to catch you any time. The customer service is frustrating. To get an answer to a general question, you have to give them every bit of your personal information, which takes forever. They keep and keep asking. I am going to close my account with them.

Bad deposit release practices

I made a deposit and was told by the bank manager and the teller at Union Bank On West Grand in Escondido, that my funds would release and be available on Monday at 12:01AM.

At 12:30AM Tuesday I went to rent a hotel room and my debit card was declined ....funds not available. I tried again at 1:30AM and 3:00AM still funds denied. The temperature outside was 38 degrees and I stayed awake with no room all that night. i went to the bank the next morning and funds were available after 9AM.

I asked why my funds didn't clear and they told me that no matter what i was told by the manager and the teller that their disclosure says funds may not be available for up to and additional 24 hours depending on how long my deposit took to be posted. Don't count on your money being there if you bank at Union Bank and do not listen to the employees because it is obvious that they are not aware of the printed disclosure that all customers receive and do not read because the print is 10 times smaller than the print you are currently reading. about the size of this comma > , < do you see the comma between the arrows. In short Union Bank Sucks.........

The gal of this bank to treat a widow with such distain

Union Bank's latest action is an outrage! what this bank has done to my mother, after having a union bank account for over 25 years, with a minimum 10 k balance, never late on a credit card payment or any bill.

They canceled her account when my step father passed on 1/7/13, they had a joint account and she made more money, paid the bills and they have the gal and audacity to assume he is the major figure in this joint account, thats how they justify their decision to close this account.

Assuming he was the principle because he's male, when in fact he was not the principle account holder she has always been in all accounts. This is very chauvinistic and they should be ashamed.

Good at First, then turned into LOUSY and INEPT

well first I opened a account in my local area, because I thought they were Professional? NOPE I was wrong.

First off, If you are over drawn, they charge a $33.00 fee which does not make any Logical/Mathematical sense what so ever!

I was okay with that at first, but not, then next I know they are Charging $6.00 a day for each day you are Over Drawn and that is just PLAIN WRONG....

My Over all output is

STAY AWAY from UNION BANK!!! don't bank there!

simple

Unsatsifactory Bank - Stay Away

Union bank is awful. Would give 0 stars if possible. They recently started re-ordering your debits and make largest ones hit first (didn't other banks get in trouble for this years ago). This is just a fyi as i don't make charges that won't clear but i do not feel that manipulation on your transactions is on the up and up. Union bank has just recently started holding direct deposits in pending status for 2 days after they have received direct deposit. My direct deposits have been done for over 2 years and this "holding" has only consistantly started occurring within the last 3 months. Worst teller customer experience: when i tried to make a $80. 00 cash withdrawal to keep $40. 00 and put $40. 00 into another account that i am not on. Simple right? $80. 00 out of my account. Keep $40 cash and hand deposit slip and $40 for another account deposit on an account i am not on. (not possible for me to do a transfer to the other account because i am not on the other account). The teller rudely help up my $80 withdrawal slip in front of my face and ripped it up. Told me i didn't do it correctly and made me fill out 2 withdrawal slips from my account each for $40. Never in 4 years have i been told i filled out my withdrawal slip incorrectly when doing this very same transaction. To make me fill out 2 withdrawal slips like this was beyond reasonable for a simple transaction. Day i decided enough! Had a union bank rep do a pending debit "release" directly with the merchant on the telephone who was trying to credit my account back for a charge that had not gone through yet (in pending status) and union bank put the "released" charge through the account anyway and debited the account and paid the merchant. Now union bank is claiming that it is the merchant's fault and they committed fraud. Huh? Recap: union bank rep does a release on the pending debit directly with the merchant on the phone and union bank pays the mrechant and it's the merchant's fault!!! They are now telling me that fo

I love this bank!

I have excellent customer service. The staff is kind and very customer service orientated. They have no ridiculous fees, and don't charge for ATM usage. I ordered a federal reserve stack of $2 bills, and I got them two days later. They are just great.

My goodbye letter to Union Bank

As I head towards the door to begin a relationship with another bank, I thought that I would share a bit of my Union Bank experience with you. Part of my reason for bringing this situation to your attention is that I find it hard to believe that senior management at Union Bank is aware of how badly the transition from Frontier Bank to Union Bank has been handled in the Puget Sound area.

I hope that you will give my feedback at least a modicum of consideration for the following reasons:

1) I have over 20 years of banking experience culminating in a COO role at a NYC investment bank.

2) My Garden Nursery has won Best of Western Washington by popular vote for the past two years in a row. Furthermore, we were recently named as one of the Top 5 nurseries in the US. These acclaims are the result of our attention to customer service.

http://www.gardencentermagazine.com/garden1211-editor-gift.aspx

3) I am on numerous Boards and Advisory Committees relating to our industry and business in general throughout the Pacific Northwest. I am meeting with business leaders regularly to discuss what elements are helping or detracting from the success of our businesses. Banking relationships are an important part of these discussions.

BACKGROUND:

My Garden Nursery opened its doors in November 2006 with a Revolving Line of Credit from Frontier Bank. As a former banker, I am not sure that I would have extended this line to our start up operation, but Frontier Bank did and they never regretted it. We cleaned up the line every year, made every interest payment in full and on time, and did all our addition financial transactions through Frontier including a $25k CD, merchant banking, and a DDA with attractive balances.

If you had asked any of the staff at our local Frontier branch, I know that they would have identified My Garden as one of their best and most popular customers. Unfortunately you cannot ask any of them because not one of them is

.The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life and it was with a CS supervisor!

When union (I won't capitalize a company I have no respect for) took over Fronier Bank I have had nothing but negative experiences. To start, they send me a special customer ID number and a special secret code that I have to memorize to access my account. Why can't I create my own access code like everyone else? I have this ratty peice of paper with ther numbers stashed in my wallet so I don't forget.

(The last straw!) I called to get account balance information and the CS rep asked for identifing questions. I gave her my name, SSN and birthdate. She wanted more info!

Now I don't use this account very often so I didn't know exactly when the last deposit or withdrawl was made (of course these were her next questions).

I told her I didn't know and she said she couldn't help me with out the info!

I asked for a supervisor-waited 3 minutes and was disconnected. I bet she just really loves that power she has to disconnect a customer who puts thousands of dollars into her employer's bank.

I called back and asked immediately for a supervisor. Guess what? I got the same &%$#@ questions the first CS rep asked. She too said she couldn't help me without deposit of withdrawl info. I said: " I bet you are looking on the computer right now and see all my info that I'm telling you, my address, phone, SSN, date of birth etc etc." She Said: "yes I am". I said: "even though I gave you all this information, that is still not enough to prove who I am?" She responded with a smirky tone: "Yes thats true"

I told her that I have never been harrassed like this ever by an institution that I deposit money to so they can invest to pay these ignorant customer service reps.

Needless to say, I immediately went to the bank 30 minutes later and closed my accounts. Shame on union bank!!!!!!!!

Bank that does not treat loyal customers well

I would recommend banking somewhere else. Everything was great about this bank until despite having banked with them for over 5 years we got note saying our account now costs 20 dollars a month to maintain the signature banking. To get free signature banking you need 25000 dollars or more in your account. I dont think that is a good way to treat loyal customers who have been banking with this company for many years. If they wanted to put in such a policy it should have been for new customers only. Bank somewhere else. Will not be long before they will charge for regular accounts too.
