“Going downhill fast.”
My mother helped me open a bank account with Wells Fargo when I was 12 years old. For years, it was the best bank around. There were no surprise fees, no problems with my deposits, and no trouble whatsoever to get an overdraft fee rescinded, even if the overdraft was my fault! I was so grateful to them for their efforts to keep my banking experience hassle-free and inexpensive.
Not anymore. It's been twelve years since I opened my account, and the last couple of years have seen the bank go into a downward spiral. I don't know what the issue is! Suddenly they tell me I have to pay a fee, but they never tell me when said fee will be deducted. I get an overdraft and have to fight tooth and nail just to get half of my money back, and get my account switched to the kind where you have to use your debit card ten times a month for it to stay free.
I don't like this uncertainty. I just know this is going to lead to more overdrafts, especially with the way my WF Online never seems to accurately portray my spending history, and how unreliable they've become regarding deposits. What happened to the Xbox Live charge that showed up yesterday? Why, pray tell, am I unable to access my own money for days after I deposit it? There is no excuse. Just today, I had to leave my boyfriend at a restaurant and drive to the ATM because the transaction failed. Money in my account, nothing wrong with my debit card...what's the problem here?
My level of customer satisfaction has plummeted to the point where I'm pretty sure it's underground. And I just want to strangle the tellers when they give me that fake smile after I ask what's going on and they tell me there's nothing they can do, have a nice day!

“Fees, Fees, and more Fees. I was thoroughly dissatisfied with Wells Fargo. ”
I began going into Wells Fargo a few times to cash checks. One day while in a hurry the teller was so pushy about me getting an account that I said fine. He said it would only take 10 minutes. Well an hour later I was so frustrated when I was way late to the next thing I had to attend. I was just happy to be out of there and have my check finally cashed. This unfortunately was only the start of my troubles with Wells Fargo. Originally I did not want to get a credit card but being way pushy I said fine and then never activated it. Then they have all kinds of monthly fees that exceed the amount that they tell you in the branch office. They are such crooks. Other banks that I have dealt with have no fees, no hassle, no problems, if something is amiss they will call you and say please take care of this particular thing. Wells Fargo will just give a random fee that might take your checking into the negative and then will give you fees for doing that and not say anything and get a negative balance fee for $25 a month. I have been charged atleast $150 to $200 in the last year that I have had an account with these crooks. Save yourself the trouble and bank elsewhere.

“Poor customer service”
I am very disappointed with their customer service, charging unfair fees. Branch manager is terrible, not willing to listen to the customers. Personal banker "Patel" very unhelpful. I suggest her title to be changed to "Impersonal Banker". Will never go to this branch again.

“Wells Fargo is a criminal institution”
Wells Fargo Property Loss Department - I have followed all of the set up protocols from Wells Fargo and when I asked where my first check was... that is where the lies started. I spoke to a rep on 5/15 and they said it was overnighted (at my expense) back to me. After contacting my local post office, there was no record of any package in my name. I spoke to a rep on 5/16 and they again stated it was sent. After telling them the USPS had no record of the letter, she changed her story. I was transferred to a "specialist". I guess that is code word for mean and nasty employee. I was told they had not received the check for processing yet and it will be a few more days. I called again on 5/17 and they said it could be another 48 hours until the check is processed. What can be done about this? I am not able to live in my home and I cannot afford to make the repairs myself. Wells Fargo is holding MY money hostage and will not allow me to repair my home. All I want are the funds to repair my home. I would think it would be in the best interests of the mortgage company to expedite this process.

“Worst customer service, and not very bright tellers”
I deposited a check into my account, but the tell made a mistake when entering the information which caused my account and some of the accounts associated with it to be frozen. When I tried the rectify the situation they just kept giving me the runaround and would not admit to their mistake. It took a certified letter from another bank to prove that they were in error, and in the process they decided to close out my account and freeze all my funds until they got around to sending me the funds via a bank check. Needless to say I will not be doing business with this bank again.

“Utterly exhausting”
So we've been working on a USDA loan for about 2 months now. Yes I know that's a long process but the problem is Wells Fargo has been at the Underwriting process of said loan for the entire 2 MONTHS!!!! The only time anything get's done is when I contact them to say 'Hey, hows the process coming along? When's our close date?' To which I'm met with ,100% of the time mind you, Oh, well we need more documents... This has been the response for 2 LONG MONTHS! It's a disgrace. The first loan officer I dealt with hasn't responded to any of my attempts at communication for over a week so I resort to contacting the loan processor. She has been great but unfortunately cannot answer all of our questions... NOT GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! Especially when you have a child on the way and preferably want to have moved into your home by then. Really disgusted at the lack of communication, the time involved, the constant need to contact them to get anything done.

“Don't refinance with Wells. 7 months to close. Ridiculous!!!”
We have refinanced our mortgage twice before. Typically, 30 to 45 days. Seriously, this closing took 7 months. Wells made so many mistakes, they had to re-do nearly everything. They could even get name right on loan agreements. This was crazy, because I was an existing customer. Recommend going elsewhere.

“not very good.”
i am disabled emotionally but i have been making great strides towards active participation in society. today while banking i realized that i have a long way to go. the teller was very impersonal and kept me waiting for quite some time to cash a simple check for me. seventeen years never a problem until today. for the first time in m,any years i had enough money in my savings to cover it, which certainly added to my humiliation.. i am now in emotional relapse of which writing this complaint is making me feel humanized.. people should just be nice, i felt like a common criminal instead of a mother a sister a daughter a friend and an employee. thumbs down wells fargo

“HORRID!!!”
So we've had an account with Wells Fargo for about 2 years now. I have never had a good experience. Customer service is the worst, and they have that sign in every one about their "motto" which feels like they are mocking you. For two years I have gone into different branches and asked them to cash my paycheck and then deposit the cash for me. Never a problem. I try and new branch, the woman teller tells me she can give me cash but then I have to go outside to the ATM to deposit it..... wait... what?? I kept trying to get her to make sense and to understand why she was making no sense. Called the manager and the manager said the same thing.... still no sense was made. So what I did is I cashed my check then went to the end of the line and deposited my cash... completely unacceptable. and the kicker, I got the same teller again and she just deposited my cash without a second glance....we are currently shopping around for a new bank. Oh, and the spending limit is $1000 on your bank card PER DAY and $310 atm withdrawal a day.... real pain when you're trying to put a downpayment on a car.
