“A bank of incompetent thieves”

Amegy bank is a horrible place to bank! I have had nothing but problems with them, and anytime I try to call and resolve them, I'm met with hostility and rudeness. I had my credit card information stolen and the person made fraudulent charges onto my account, and they took FOUR MONTHS just to take the charged off! Not only that but they actually had the nerve to charge me overdraft fees because of the fraudulent charges! They refused to refund the overdraft fees until after the charges were checked out and confirmed, but as i said before it took 4 months for them to do this! Then at the end of the four months they still hadn't refunded the overdraft charges and told me that i had waited too long to request a refund for those charges! After sending emails and calling several more times and threatening to close my account they finally agreed to refund ONE of the overdraft fees, which took ANOTHER month for them to do. After that I had to wait to change my direct deposit out of that account so that I could close it and it ended up costing me again because then they charged me for an overdraft fee on a pending charge that never took place! They held a pending transaction for 3 days that never went through, and i had more than enough money in my account to cover it- so they actually charged an overdraft fee, THEN applied the amount of the purchase! If they hadn't charged an overdraft fee, then i wouldn't have been overdrawn on my account and would have been able to cover the purchase! (which was CANCELED so it wouldn't have gone through anyway!) They are completely unbelievable and as far as I am concerned they STOLE money from me, they are nothing more than thieves, take your hard earned money else where before its too late!

“I'm impressed”

Nice experience. They were kind, helpful and patient. Set things up for me and helped me get a no penalty CD. Much easier than some other banks I've dealt with.

“Recession-busting rates!”

I would like to give Discover the "you are awesome" award. More specifically, thanks for the great rates on your CDs. Definitely should consider these CDs as a tool in your arsenal if you want to ride out this recession and make money doing it.

“Special Rates on 3 and 5 Year CDs”

Discover Bank has special rates on 3 and 5 year CDs. Plus their 12 month CD is good too! I took one of each...its time to start saving!

“Bank of America is the Bank for Me”

As a first time bank account holder, I have to say that the Bank of America has made it effortless and straightforward to open up an account and keep track of my personal finance. The Bank of America is great for college students with simple needs like depositing and withdrawing money, and has a branch located near many college campuses with great customer service and quick procedures. As long as I have my pin and card ready, I’m good to go.

“Great bank”

I've been with the bank for some time now and find it superior to, for example, ING Direct. I only use it for a savings account so I can't remark on other services.

“Bank transition problems”

Old bank transitioning to being US Bank and I have had nothing but problems already and I don't even have new checks, card, etc yet. I have never had any problems with accessing my accounts and now with US Bank, well I have already been hit with 2 overdraft fees, because they held my deposit and a payment hit my account BEFORE they released the deposit. This NEW procedure was not layed out in any information received from US Bank. I went in and spoke with the rep because I was concerned about the fund hold and was assured I would not be charged any fees, but guess again.... they took the fees out anyway. I called and have been waiting now for the rep to get back to me on those charges. I'm currently unemployed and have every penny counted to either groceries or bills and I have ill afford to have these fees taken out and in the transitional period to top it all off. If this is the way they want to keep current customers to US Bank customers, they need to re-evaluate their transition procedures. I'm looking for another bank to take my checking savings and CD to.

“I've had issues”

Many Small Business have experienced the wrath of Advanta's High Interest. Including myself. My Interest rate went from 7.9 to 32%. I never was late even one day. They wouldn't work with us at all. “A great bank”

I am a Premier HSBC customer with accounts in 4 different countries. Imagine having your own private banking network where money moves seamlessly between countries. Where international transfers are free and in some cases instantaneous. Where you can do you own Wire Transfers when necessary online at half the cost of almost every other bank. And where Customer Service is just great. I have to say the negative reviews are a mystery to me.
