“BofA tellers are useless...”
Tellers in BofA are trained to be robots, no thinking, no commonsense and no brains needed. If they receive a check and a deposit slip. They will not read it, whether you put your amount under the CASH area of the deposit slip or whether your check is payable to CASH. I was told I have to verbally tell the teller how I want the money handled. Then deposit slips are just useless, if as a customer I cannot use it to tell how I want my money handled. I thought written is legally binding than verbal ????

“Awful customer service”
I thought Bank of America was one of the best banks but I was wrong. I agree with one of the post here. The bank does not have common sense. I have on average daily balance of $5000 throughout the year. The online account website does not reflect the bill payment activities as they are scheduled, made me think I still have sufficient money in the account. They charged me 3x$35 overdraft fee because I had bill payment scheduled within five days. This was only one time mistake and they were related to one issue. I spent 1.5 hrs to get 2 of the $35 fees refunded. Seriously, I earn a lot for that time. I decided not to go any further and will not try to get the $35 back. I am just going to leave the bank but will never return. I have been a good customer and have lots of money at the bank because I have also some CD accounts. The bank does not care. This was just a one time problem which relates to 3 overdraft fees. If I have been a bad customer, I would understand why they deny my request. But I have been a good one. The bank earns enough from my money. Too bad, they are loosing my business and will never return.
“BOA - We take the $ out of savings!”
I opened a savings account with/for my 12 year old niece in Maryland before I left the country at the end of the summer. They said after a year, she would be charged a monthly fee if she didn't have $100 saved by then.
It's November and she has been charged twice so far (Sept. & Oct. or Oct. Nov.).
I chatted with someone from BOA customer service who told me they don't have a minor account anymore and kept on giving me canned answers about how they understood my frustration. If they did, they would have given me more than one non-canned response.
Frustrating because I opened the account in Sept. only because it would link to my BOA account instead of switching before I left for the Middle East.
“I can not stand BOA ”
I have delt with BOA since 2005 in that time I thought I made the right chose on the bank well I was wrong I had nothing but problems with BOA every week my account was overdrawn 200 to 300 dollars I work my but off to get my bills paid and I turn around and I am paying back the bank for overdrafts that I never racked up in the first place I kept a very close eye on my account and made sure that I had the money in the account and when it was low I would not spend over the amount.
I was tending college and I had gotten a check from my college that I attended too and I deposit and I knew that I had to wait a couple of days for it to clear and I was fine with and so when the monet was all there to spend the first thing I did was pay off a credit account that i had and that was 460.00 so the rest of the money was to do what i wanted and so i took my grandma out for a eight our shoping spree so buy the time i did my last shopping I spent 250 and that left me 210 so that was fine I did great and when i got home and I look at my online backing I was over drawn 500.00 I went off the wall I called them and they told me that I went over board onmy debit card and that is over drafts along with the amounts that I spent and I had it out with them and when I got done with on the phone I todl them when this account is paid off I am pulling my business out of your bank and I will go to a diffrent one because I am not getting rip off.
I will say ths much I wish to god that BOA would have never been bailed out of I wish that all the BOA's were shut down and for the people that say they are the greatest banks to deal with there is something wrong in there heads.
“Their customer service makes me feel like a roll of toilet paper.”
My previous bank was bought by BoA. So I left and went to another bank, that was bought by BoA, repeat. I had difficultly getting direct deposit setup at my newest bank so I reluctantly opened up an account at BoA for convienience. $250 in fees later I have closed the account and vowed never ever to return to this thieving bank.
Their customer service makes me feel like a roll of toilet paper.
“Stealing $ from a single mother, they don't care if you eat or not! ”
I cannot be apart of a company that steals your $, I had a savings & chking since 2005 however after being overdrafted TWICE I cancelled them SOB's.... My work check as a direct deposit into that acct. Now the funds were always avail Fri nite by midnight but this last few deposits they didn't post the money until Monday... meaning any transactions Fri- Sun could incur OD fees even thou I got an email that reflected the balance including my work deposit. I called and spoke with 3 sups & left a message for 2 unit managers the bottom line is they have no compassion even when they are not consistent. I was charged $140 in fees 1 time & $210 the next. They will "educate" you for however long you want to stay on the line but they will not give your $$$ back. If you like a bank where they'll steal your $ and expect you to have to know all the technical terms like presented posting times for bank, atm, direct deposit and pending posts be my guest
“Help!? Where?!”
We had a mortgage from a company who was shut down, and also did not get on board with the make your home affordable act. Bank of America was the company to buy out our old company Taylor, Bean and Whitaker. We are still in the process of Bank Of America receiving all of our paperwork, well we try to call them for help and we get different answers with every call. We don't want to pay someone cause we don't have the money. They are not showing a lot of progress for new customers, just existing, like they don't want to keep us new ones, or our problems. When was it that everyone decided to not help out others in need. All we want is a straight answer and a feeling that we will be helped. We just do not feel comfortable. We do not want to lose our house, but do they care if they have another foreclosure cause they do not want to help out? Yes you will get our money, but we want some guarantee that you will be there for us and help us too. That is all I can say on the matter. Please make BOA realize this and help more new customers. Thanks
“There is no common sense at Bank Of America”
Just got off the phone with a rep over at BOA. Several years ago I set up a repeating savings transfer from checking to savings for $100.00 This past checking cycle my bank made the transfer when I didn't have the funds available (their words) I saw the transaction with my own eyes the day of the transfer, I physically saw the plus balance remaining in the checking account and the plus balance in the savings account. I transferred the savings back to the checking to cover bills. leaving a 0 dollar balance in my savings account and increasing my checking account by the 100.00, yesterday I checked my accounts to find that they had created a negative balance in my checking for the 100.00. If it is the banks job to deal in matters regarding money, how is it possible to transfer money you don't have to another account. Sounds to me like the bank has a loophole which they see fit to add additional charges for.
I doubt that Mr. Walter E.Massey or Mr.Kenneth D.Lewis would approve of such coy fee tactics. They are the heads of state over at BOA
Then again you never know, either way, they just lost another customer for ever.
I wonder how many they will lose before they take notice?
“Dishonest, nickel and dime you to death with bogus fees! The WORST!”
BoA looks for every opportunity to charge you fees and juggles timing and ordering of debit card charges so that they can deduct fees up to $70 per so-called overdrafts. They are dishonest, their customer service reps have been rude and condescending. To top it off, we, the American People bailed their sorry asses out of collapse, and their thanks is to increase fees (sometimes doubling them), and adding new fees to pad their profits. Absolutely the most UN-American bank in existence, in my opinion. Crooks!
