Caught them just in time .....

I, too, was swamped with fees because for some reason a large check that was directly deposited into my account wasn't credited on a timely basis. The person at the bank really had no authority to do anything so I will pay those fees but I had gone there to also move my major credit card to TD and obviously will not be doing that. I had been there earlier in the week to meet with a visiting officer about moving over another account into their hands and also have rethought that as well. They are lovely people but are not helping the current banking crisis: they are CREATING yet another.

On a single form, I could have applied for a credit card, a CD, a debit card, a mortgage - well you name it. However, I would not get the specific terms until I signed up and received the credit card via the mail. And by the way they might change those terms on a daily basis without notifiying me! Sure. Not a single pamphlet in the bank disclosed information about who was covering fraud against an account of mine. It was as if none of those problems existed. Commerce was on the right small town track and I hate to say this because I was born in Tornoto, but these fellow Canadians are the smoothest guys in town. Caveat emptor.

But as Mr. Lincoln said, you can fool some of the people some of the time .......

I am banking somewhere new very soon!

TD BANK IS THE WORST BANK EVER!!

We inherited this bank through mergers, after mergers, and they are by far the worst bank ever. The first off just merged their computers after some time and are losing all track of customers accounts. They will hold deposits longer if it means they can get you to overdraft your account and then charge you the $35. We tried to order checks through them and 6 weeks later they finally came after countless tries to get them. I would be very concerned for anyone who keeps their money with this bank.

Horrible Bank Fees

I called 3 times to have overdraft protection taken off of my account in the past month. Each time they have told me there was a problem submitting the request and that it would take effect in 3 days. They told me that I should keep a check book to balance my account! I have not overdrawn my account, however, they have held back checks I've deposited and transfered money from one account to another. So even though the money was "there" they over drew my account anyway and fined me a whoppering 300+ dollars this month alone. I called to have the money put back that they took, they agreed to refund me 105. They refunded the 105 and then they took it back the next day. I'm moving to another bank.

Horrible - Horrble Bank

TD Bank is an organization that is falling apart and its customers pay the price. Multiple branches share a manager. The branch managers are rude and non-responsive. They recently went through a merger of multiple banks that was catastrophic and had significant impact on their customers. They decided the proper thing to do was to shut down their phones for weeks.

I met one of their executive VPs at an event. He was making a presentation on how small business people should interact with their banker. When I tried to engage using his recommendations, the branch manager missed three scheduled appointments. When I called and emailed the executive -- no returned call, no response at all.

I went to the Secuacus branch and the manager Miguel was SO rude that I had to walk out.

This is a horrible bank. The branch managers are slick and sleazy. Go elsewhere at any cost.

nice local branch - but broken account

My account was potentially compromised so had to be closed and a new one opened.
My local branch is great - got me all set up.

But overnight when data was processed, and everything broke.
The newly opened account was erroneously closed; my new debit card was deactivated. Similar to events reported in the press at the beginning of October, I've had no access to my funds for about a week....and counting. The new account is closed; the bank is holding my money in some other internal account-- I can't access it, and my local branch has not been able to unlock it.

Ever since I identified the problem, there has been no communication from the TD bank "back office" even acknowledging that this is a problem - no word on when it will be corrected, or when I will have access to my funds. They don't even talk to my local branch--not even to offer any indication they are working on it.

They are non-responsive and there seems to be no avenue for escalation.

Time is Money, I lost plenty waiting for reps.

Ever since Commerce turned into TD Bank, the service turned sour. You have to wait forever to get to a real person. Terrible, I hope enough people pull the money out so, they raise the bar for customers service back up.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE!

PLEASE if you are thinking of opening up a new bank account, DO NOT go to TD Bank! Since my boyfriend and I opened our joint account with TD in April, we have had NOTHING but problems. Overdraft fees galore, random transactions, and of course absolutely no explanation for any of this. Every month atleast one of our checks bounced because TD is so inaccurate with their website and transaction history. Recently, we were charged 210.00 in overdraft fees and had a 613.00 hold on our account. EVERYDAY, sometimes MID day, the transaction history changes on the website. We notified them and they said this cannot be resolved. Finally, after hours we talked to someone to have the 210.00 and the 613.00 removed. Hours later, it was back and with a nice new charge of 105.00 in overdraft fees! THAT'S NINE OVERDRAFT FEES IN LESS THAN ONE DAY! When we contacted the bank again for the FOURTH time in one day, they told us "Of course you have overdraft fees! You didn't have the money in your account!" Ahem, YOU TOOK THE MONEY OUT OF OUR ACCOUNT! That was the last straw, we have returned to my sincere, no games credit union. TD Bank is ridiculous. They charge fees nonstop, have no customer service representatives who can thoroughly explain ANYTHING that happens, and their website is completely inaccurate. Please, if you want to save your money and not waste it on fees and save your time and not waste it on customer service calls, DO NOT BANK HERE!!!!!!

BIGGEST RIPOFF IN BANKING INDUSTRY

Recently closed my account because of fees associated with account only to find out
that I was charged $150 to close only after I received my closing statment in mail. Was never told about this fee. The charge monthly fees to maintain checking and savings account. $35 for overdraft of even .01 cent. If not paid within 3 days fee increases another $35.
I also had my car payment on an automatic bill pay, to be paid monthly. I did not realize that TD bank missed a payment in February and as a result my car was repossesed in March. TD did continue to make payments in March and April after repossion. They would not take responsibility for THEIR ERROR. As a result, I not only lost my car but have been charged Tow and Storage Fees.
My latest grip with TD Bank is that even though they are supposedly in the SUM network for ATM transactions, I was recently charged to my new bank account (with another institution) a $1.00 fee on 3 different occasions. There should be no charge for these transactions within the SUM Network.
MY ADVICE IS TO STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS BANK

Rude to No Customer Service, Fees Galore And They Don't Care!!!

First off was originally a Commerce Bank customer. Has no real issues with them accespt for some poor customer service represntatives. Now in 2 days I have been charged $210 dollars in overdraft fees. Yes thats right I said $210 dollars in overdraft fees. My account inadvertently went over by a few dollars. (No problem right thats my fault). Heres the kicker though. I checked my account online on the 12th of October. Im in the positive. Deposit my check and now im - 105 dollars. And now all of a sudden this post happened on the 11th. Now wait a minute I didnt know a bank could go back in time and change a document but guess what this is TD BANK anything can happen with them. When confronted with this the customer service rep tells me "If you had money in your account you would have any problems." Who the heck does he think he is, Im quite sure anyone on here would not like over $100 stolen from their account. The new rule at TD Bank is they let EVERY TRANSACTION GO THROUGH. Even if its for .01 cent so they can hit you with $35.00 a shot. Even while your account is negative. Now because I was under the impression I still was in the black my hamburger cost me $38.00 my cigarettes cost me $42.00. WTF is this bank doing, Illl tell you THEY WILL ROB YOU of your hard earned money.

Low and behold I find a branch manager at a different branch that removes the $105 fee from me, atleast someone there is reasonable. Thought all was good until this morning they re-hit me up with another $105 dollar overdraft fee. After waiting HOURS ON THE PHONE, THEY DONT PICK UP BTW I finally got someone else to reverse the charge.

I HAVE SINCE CLOSED MY ACCOUNT WITH THESE CROOKS. DO NOT TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH A BANK THAT CHANGES DOCUMENTS AND PUTS DEBITS AHEAD OF CREDITS SO THAT YOU WILL BE CHARGED 35 DOLLARS A POP>

REPORT FILES WITH BBB AS WELL.
