“USAA Mistreats its' Loyal Oldest Members!”
They call you a member. I am a "member" of 29 years. Recently, the market started diving down and I was forced to file for bankruptcy. USAA bank did not even TRY to help me re-affirm my credit card debt. They locked me out of their web site from all of my 8 accounts. Bank officials could not offer an intelligent reason for locking me out of theiir web site other that I was being punished for their loss...even though THEY did NOTHING to HELP put the debt in good standing!!!! This bank sabotages its' membership and leaves them out to dry. If you temporarily stumble, this bank is GUARANTEED to kick you down. SHAME on USAA for mistreating its' military membership!!!
“I've had huge issues”
They call you a member. I was a "member" for 15 years until the housing market bottomed out. Once I was in a little trouble they cut me off from their web site from all of my accounts with them and were as rude as can be. I did not miss a payment or bounce a check fro 15 years and now this.
“Wow! What a great bank!”
good service
“Great Service UNTIL you get inaccurate information.....”
I have been a customer of USAA for 10 years and have always received great service. However, recently I made a deposit of a check that I wasn't sure was good. Despite this I made several calls to customer service to see if the funds had cleared and been verified. On the 6th day after the deposit I called again and was told that the funds had cleared and had been verified. Based on this information I made a transaction using some of the funds from the deposited check. Well, the check bounced the very next day. USAA charged me a fee and took the money from the account. Charging me a fee, fine I get that, but I only used some of the money AFTER contacting customer service. I trusted the information I was given and it has cost me. After several weeks of getting the run around from the executive resolution department I was told that the bank wasn't going to do anything to correct this situation. The rep I spoke with said the other resolution team members should not have led me to believe this would be taken care of and will be "counseled". I have never had a reason to believe that information given to me from customer service representatives isn't accurate. Now I know, you can't trust anything and that USAA will not stand behind their customers when customer service representatives give them wrong information. The entire situation has been an expensive pill to swallow.
“Excellence”
After moving five times in the last four years, I have learned that the only thing easy about moving is having USAA. They handle our banking, investments, and insurance needs and I am able to transfer money and change addresses with one simple call. I have never had a bank that is so responsive to the needs of its members.
“I LOVE USAA!”
I have had wonderful experiences with USAA ever since my dad first set me up with checking and savings accounts when I was in high school. I have been using USAA for almost 20 years now and have NO complaints whatsoever! Anytime I speak with someone on the phone, I am amazed at how wonderful it is to speak with the employees. I use USAA for pretty much all of my needs (credit card, checking, savings, car insurance, mortgage) and I couldn't be happier. I love how much I am able to do online with paying bills and transferring money between accounts as well as opening and modifying existing insurance policies.
“Excellent Customer Service”
USAA in every aspect delivers superior quality service. They have reasonable insurance rates, a great website, excellent customer service and are pleasant and helpful to deal with. Their customer service professionals are just that, professionals. They are courteous as well as knowledgeable. I have never had a bad experience in dealing with any of their representatives. They also have a very good website and free ATM usage at any ATM within a limited number of transactions. I will continue doing business with them for many years. They are my bank and my insurance provider of choice.
“Not much to complain about...”
This is a great bank/insurance company. Insurance rates are reasonable/low. And the annual rebate checks are an extra special added bonus. Customer service is, well, still, customer service. You speak to an actual human and they are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and nothing like what other companies now call customer service.
Online banking has improved and is far superior to most other banks. Although I miss the feature that predicted your account value at certain points in the future, why did they get rid of that? I pay all my bill online through USAA and couldn't be happier. Been doing this for many years (5+) and never once had a payment be late.
To the user upset about the 6 transactions/month..... That's a federal law, not USAA. Most other banks charge $10 per transaction beyond 6. And it only relates to electronic transactions, which for most of us are all of them since there aren't brick and morter facilities in most states. Consider switching your children to the checking instead of savings account and/or a combination. Transfers are a breeze.
It's only too bad everyone isn't eligible for USAA accounts. My friends and colleagues would love the opportunity, their banks (Chase, Wachovia, WAMU, Citi, and others) charge fees like they are going out of style and have no customer service.
Thank you USAA. Please don't change.
“Wow! What a great bank!”
Excellent service! Great products! Great on-line service! Low or no fees. This is the finest level of service available anywhere. Run with people, the customers, in mind.
“Fee Free”
No fees. Everything is free that is allowed to be free. I don't have a savings account anymore because USAA helped me realize its not what I need. What bank would tell you that you don't need their product unless they meant it. Savings accounts are regulated and since they cannot be accessed for certain transactions more than 6 times a month by federal rule, its not a good account to move money from quite often. The diversity of accounts available though, I switched to a money market account, earning an insane interest. Since USAA is more of a financial provider than a bank or insurance company alone, I am able to open my free brokerage account and pay for my trades from my checking account. This company is awesome!
