I have continually tried to balance my check book with little success to the end balance being correct. The bank will do everything possible to make you go in the negative by posting multiple charges out of order before posting a larger one.
On another note. I went to the bank to have my "checking and savings acct.s "linked"" to find out a year later that they still had not been linked because they wanted me to continue using a line of credit instead of taking money for overdrafts out of my savings account. Of course they would charge the additional fees plust whatever was charged by the vendor. Watch out!
