No Complaints! Just Need More Locations.

I've been with TD Bank for almost five years now, and so far have had no problems, and experienced relatively reliable customer service. I did have a few of the overdraft fees that I've seen other reviewers angry about, but I was alerted by the bank immediately when I overdrew and in cases where I could demonstrate that I had actually not overdrew my account, they waived the fee. Of course, I might have just gotten lucky with the branch/teller. Transferring money from the Investment Group from your savings account is also very easy and convenient. One negative I could claim is that while TD Banks are on every corner in Boston and to the north, further south they become fewer and further between. Hopefully there is a merger in the future that will let this great bank open more locations in and around New York!

convenient is not everything

This bank is close. this bank is open 7 days. This bank is manned by poorly trained teenagers. This bank has through bad judgment cost me much money.
I had pulled out all CD's with them when CD's paid something. I have had checks for cash denied payment for some of the dumbest reasons.

Suppose I have a $4000 balance and want to deposit a $2000 check and also withdraw $300. NO GOOD! The $2000 check did not clear yet. How can you argue with that?? Some of these people should be salting fries in another branch. I dare not mention the Asian branch of their customer service. I was just on the phone with an American speaking lady, but the one week hold for a check did not seem correct or legal. Reminds me of the hassle they gave me to deposit my tax refund. I took the check to another bank with no problem.

Reading the reviews I see the employees are happy.

No Notice on New Fees

When TD Bank took over Commerce, I received several letters saying how my account would not be affected; that we would continue to receive the same great service we were getting from Commerce; that the only noticeable thing would be the logo change. Unfortunately, on my latest statement for January, there is a 15 dollar charge, apparently there must be some minimum balance that is now required. I never received any notice of this change and there is no where on the website where you can find a fee schedule. One good thing about them keeping the same branch hours (open early close late), I will be able to go there to close my account on my way to work.
