American Express Bank, FSB
All i have to say about these reviews is if you took some personal responsibility there wouldn't be as many issues. Everytime there is a fee change or an account change the bank notifies you 60 days ahead of time... maybe you should read your mail and stop blaming the bank for your laziness!!! Also, the include statement inserts... so if you opened your statement it would avoid 2 issues: you would know about the fee change and how to avoid it and you wouldn't over draft your account because you would be able to properly balance your check book! I've worked for many many banks and they are ALL the same! The bottom line is the customers have to have some personal accountability we can't do your banking for you we can only provide you with the information you need to do your own banking

Well I was an HSBC customer who was transfered over to First Niagara. I was a customer of HSBC for 6 years and did most of my banking online and had to contact the customer service department once for a lost card. I had a checking, savings and credit card transfered to First Niagara. The transfer was easy and so was setting up my online banking. After 6 months I noticed I got a 4 dollar mantainance fee on my checking account. I called and asked why and then stated in the customer service agreement and from what HSBC told me that you cannot change my original contract with HSBC you just aquired the accounts and would have to get my permission and signature to change any of my accounts. They reversed the fee but failed to acknowledge my statement. He then offered to switch me to an echecking account which he stated do not aquire any fees. I obliged and later that month I got a letter stating that echecking accounts starting in December will start being charged a 3 dollar mantainence fee. Are you kidding me I went down and closed out my savings and checking account but left my Credit Card open.
Now here comes the fun part I purchased a course in march under my HSBC credit card and decided to cancel it in November. They refunded me the course but it went under my HSBC card number. I did not realize this and called HSBC after I did not see the funds deposited. They stated they have records of the original purchase however all my accounts and data were transfered to first niagara and that even if they did refund it to my credit card under HSBC First Niagara still would have recieved the refund and posted it to my account as they should still be attatched. Called First Niagara and after about 11 transfers to different departments they stated I should wait 10 days and call back. I called back and they acknowledged by a third party that the refund was issued however they do not know where it is.......Then stated that is all they could do!!! Next step is small claims court

I was an HSBC customer that was transferred over to FNFG. To begin, it took 4 months to get a new debit card. They claimed they sent multiple cards, but I never received them. Every time I called to check on my card their records did not show I ever ordered one! Now they are hitting me with a 3 dollar maintenance fee for the e checking account after I spoke to the representative and made it very clear I wanted all account with NO FEES. I was assured over and over that all my accounts were free. That simply is not the case. This bank is horrible. DO NOT give them your business. I have cancelled all my accounts and taken my business elsewhere.
