It's been a great experience for the convenience.

*Log-in trouble was solved quicker than I expected.

*My check-card was giving me problems, called them and received one in the mail very soon.

*Always a pleasant voice when I call in for help on my account.

No hassles and helpful - far better than other online banks

Not sure what others saw before, but I've had no problems at all. Got stuff done on time, friendly when I called (don't really like to call but every now and then you have to).

I have a 'real' account at Flushing too but iGobanking offered the best CD rate when I was looking a few months ago (plus got a gift at the time).

I've had accounts with several online banks (ING for a while) and they had the teaser rates that always went down, down, down until I had to keep hopping around. Too much hassle.

For what it's worth, I recommend these guys - they have been good for me.

Rude and ineffective customer service

I have had many experiences with them where the customer service was rude and condescending, you could even say insulting, only to have them not follow through with the actions that instigated the call. Not following CD renewal instructions, failure to update address after multiple contacts, etc. The single biggest reason NOT to do business here is that they have no secure email contact. They use your personal 3rd party email service for secure emails, which is a VERY, VERY bad idea. Also, before oping a CD, carefully read the terms--you will no doubt be in for a big surprise compared to other banks.
