The Small Print

Here are some details we thought you should know about.  First, the bonus is considered interest and will be reported on IRS Form 1099-INT, so make sure you know how to properly claim it on your taxes in April.  This offer is not available on account conversions or in combination with any other offer.  Also, an Early Account Closing Fee will apply to accounts closed within 180 days of opening, and the Bank reserves the right to limit one gift incentive per household.

BEWARE this is a fradulent offer. I opened an account and met all the requirements within 2 wks, well before the 60 day deadline, and over 4 months later still have not received my bonus. For a month now I have been dealing with the man, Jason, who opened my account. I was told by Huntington Bank that he is the one who would have to take care of it. Jason has no clue how to help me. He first told me one thing, then another, and then another. When I call Jason and leave a message, he never returns my call. Jason was supposed to have the bank manager call me because Jason stated that the manager is the one who would have to help me now. The manager did not call so I called her. I left a message and still have not heard from Sheila. For the last two weeks I have been told that my local bank is waiting for a signature from some “big wig” and they have no way of contacting him except by email. Needless to say, I am pretty aggravated and not willing to believe their associates anymore. My advise: If you open an account with Huntington Bank, don’t count on getting $100. I am tired of companies who make promises and never keep them. I will now be taking my personal and buisness accounts elsewhere.
