Citibank is offering up to 30,000 bonus American Airlines AAdvantage® miles when you open one of their checking accounts by October 31, 2012.
The deal
Anyone who is interested in taking advantage of this deal must either open a new Citibank checking account online, by phone or at a branch. The promotional code CY4Y must be mentioned upon account opening.
Within 60 days, you must set up direct deposit to the checking account for two consecutive months and spend a minimum amount with your Citibank debit card (the amount varies depending on the checking account) in order to earn the bonus AAdvantage®miles. The amount of bonus miles earned also depends on the checking account opened.
- Citigold Account earns 30,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles, requires $750 in debit card purchases
- Citibank Account earns 15,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles, requires $375 in debit card purchases
- Basic Banking Account earns 5,000 AAdvantage® bonus miles, requires $125 in debit card purchases
The bonus miles will be posted within 90 days to your American Airlines AAdvantage® account — from the end of the month in which the requirements are fulfilled.
The accounts
The Citigold, Citibank Account and Basic Checking accounts have monthly fees of $30, $20 and $10, respectively. Each of these monthly fees can be waived if certain requirements (differs by account) are met.
