Kids can learn a lot about managing money via their surroundings, from watching TV shows to shopping with parents. There’s a lot to be learned about handling finances from playing games as well, and children don’t necessarily have to spend hours around a Monopoly board to get educated. After all, even video game characters need currency (whether it’s coins, rupees or gil) to buy important in-game items.

Here, we list a few of our favorite games that just happen to incorporate lessons about finance. We find that the best ones appeal as games first, just as Angry Birds is a physics lesson in disguise. Although they’re billed for kids, we can think of more than a few adults who still enjoy these games as well.
