Chase: $150 Cash Bonus for a New Checking Account (Jan. 2014)

Chase Bank is offering a $150 cash bonus to new customers that open up a Chase Total Checking account and set up direct deposit.

The deal

Sign up for a new Chase Total Checking account either by applying through this promotion page or by getting a printable $150 coupon emailed to you. You must print the page and present the coupon to the banker before the account is open when you visit the branch.

To qualify for the $150 bonus, your first direct deposit must be posted within 60 days of account opening. Your direct deposit needs to be an electronic deposit of your paycheck, pension or government benefits (such as Social Security).

You must also deposit $100 or more within 10 business days of account opening. After you have completed all the above requirements, Chase will deposit the bonus in your new account within 10 business days.

The minimum opening deposit is $100. The offer expires Mar. 31, 2014.

The account

The Chase Total Checking account is the bank’s basic checking account. It has a $12 monthly fee ($10 in CA, OR, and WA) which can be waived with a monthly direct deposit totaling at least $500, a $1,500 minimum daily balance, or an average balance of $5,000 in linked Chase accounts.
