Chase lowers CD rates after news of QE3, promises low rates till mid-2015

 

Coming on the heels of last weeks announcement that the Federal Reserve has deiced to keep interest rates low till mid-2015, Chase bank has already started lowering their rates across many of their standard cd terms and retirement accounts (IRA). The term receiving the largest cut was the 60 term or 5 year cd, whose rate dropped 20 basis points from 0.70 to 0.50 percent or 30 percent.

Other Chase cd terms to be hit were the 12, 18, 24, 48 and 36 with drops of 5 to 10 basis points.
