First Trade Union Bank Signs on for LevelUp Mobile Payments

Updated on Wed Dec 5, 2012

First Trade Union Bank (FTUB), based in Boston, Mass., will be the first bank to integrate LevelUp’s mobile-payment functionality into its mobile banking applications.

The new apps will allow FTUB customers to make purchases at 4,000 participating merchants by displaying a LevelUp code, which is scanned by the merchant at checkout. Customers will also unlock exclusive rewards in the process.

“LevelUp’s expansive merchant community and loyalty rewards features will provide instant value and convenience for First Trade customers,” said FTUB president and CEO Michael Butler in a press release. “They will be able to leave their wallets at home and still have quick access to their funds.”

The apps are expected to be available in early 2013.
