Hometown Community Bank of Georgia Marks 50th Bank Failure of 2012

Hometown Community Bank, based in Braselton, Ga., was closed by federal regulators. The failed bank’s deposits and assets are now held with CertusBank, based in Easley, S.C.

The two branches of Hometown Community Bank reopened on Saturday as branches of CertusBank.

Customers can continue to conduct their banking as usual. Transactions involving debit cards, ATM card and checks will continue to process normally. Loan customers should continue to make payments.

Hometown Community Bank is the 50th bank failure of the year. Here’s the list of all the bank failures in 2012.
