New Mandates Proposed for Money Market Mutual Funds

The Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC) voted unanimously Tuesday to release three reform proposals to improve the money market mutual fund industry.

The FSOC’s recommendations were put forth for public comment in an effort to advance reform of the deadlocked Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). With no deadline specified, it remains to be seen whether actual progress will be made.
